Might be Chris Evans' best acted scene in the series.

Funny thing. I didn’t read a single Marvel comic book. Ever. So I’m perfectly happy with the way things are going. I guess I’m a fanboy of the movies. Such an audacious project to tie 20 movies together. I bought into it.

Exactly me. I am in awe at how well they put this together and built it up. Truly an accomplishment.

It's something that will be often imitated but never duplicated.

That's going to mean a lot of shitty "universe" franchises continuing to pop up, but it doesn't detract from my enjoyment of so many of these movies.

So I’m watching the latest trailer. Is that Peggy talking about starting over? It’s an English voice.

Is it true that Iron Man was a relatively minor character in the comics before these movies?

I actually wouldn’t be surprised if they went on sale tomorrow or Saturday. Maybe even Monday. It was this same time last year that presales started.

Iron Man

Not minor, but not on the iconic level of Spider-Man or the Fantastic Four and not as popular as the X-Men. It’s telling that those characters were leased by the studios but not the Avenger members.

Did Thors Axe turn back into a hammer?

That's not his hammer. That's his axe (Stormbreaker)

Looked like a hammer in the last scene with C. Marvel, but I'm guessing that's the other end of the axe.

One interesting thing though is that I didn’t see Carol in one of the white suits with everyone else. Or Rocket

Suits are probably for space flight (they actually resemble something from one of the more recent comic relaunches when the Avengers went to space)

Danvers is capable of space travel solo and I'm betting Rocket is already waiting in whatever ship they travel in.

He wasn't A-list.

That's the beauty of the MCU, which DC hasn't figured out yet (or maybe they're beginning to):
you can make a better movie with a less iconic character, because you don't risk alienating everyone who believes the character isn't "right".

Tony Stark was rich, but he was also a bit of a dick if I remember rightly. But nobody cared that you made him hugely charismatic with Robert Downey Jr, because ... they just didn't get wadded up about it.

Take Batman and Bruce Wayne, alter him just a bit from the comics, and people go insane.

They fricking spoiled that Tony Stark didn’t die in the ship after making recording for Pepper.

Maybe watch the trailer on something bigger than a 5” screen and you ding dongs that keep saying it’s his hammer in this thread would realize it’s clearly the axe.

I’m kidding

But I don’t like seeing them walk in quantum realm suits implying time travel.
I couldn’t resist watching it and now regret

Not initially at least he isn’t since he was dusted along with Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Scarlett Witch, most of the Guardians, etc.

Presumably the remaining crew will reverse the effects somehow and those that were dusted will return. No spoilers bc I have no idea, just speculating. I would think they all return in the 3rd act and we get a major showdown with ALLLLL of them against Thanos at the end...including a flyover like in 2012 Avengers with everyone assembled.

One interesting thing I noticed and liked: aside from he brief shot of his arm and armor in the first trailer we have not seen or heard anything about Thanos. Where his mind is or what he’s up to are a total mystery. I like giving so little away in the trailers
