I'd be willing to bet that 3 way love triangle is gonna make Asami turncoat.
I doubt it. If they did go that route, she'd go turncoat on the Equalists once more and immediately regret her actions, much like Zuko was in Season 2.
Also anyone notice a voice actor at the very end. That was clearly Zuko's voice.

Yeah, it's awesome we will get some fire nation involvement. I'm guessing that's Zuko's grandson, since he looks pretty young. I like that his name is Iroh also. Finale is going to be awesome.

Yeah, would have to be a grandson given the age range, but it'll be awesome to see some fire nation and Zuko relatives join the fray.
This was a great episode today, between Tenzin and his family going off and Toph's daughter saving them and going down. Looking forward to the finale.

Best episode so far ranks in the top five of both series
Can't wait until next week
And I really thought Tenzin's kids were going to lose their bending

It will be interesting to see how much of a badass Zuko's grandson (I'm assuming) is. Also, on the preview for the finale it shows Amon holding Korra down about to take away her bending and she snaps her eyes and it immediately cuts away. Aang would always have that moment where he closes his eyes and then lit up as he entered the Avatar state. Hopefully we'll get to see Korra enter it and Amon will realize he's bitten off more than he can chew.
With that said, after thinking about the first season so far, I really don't think Amon is the main villain. He's got to be a puppet for someone/something.

I wonder how much will be left of Republic city ofter the battle with the Fire nation/Republic army and the Equalist. Fire nation technology should be better that the first series ans they already had a lot then.

First of all I fricking hate Meelo. There is one major problem this and the last series has is tone. It's been toned down significantly since the last series, but I think they chose to embody it in a single individual in Meelo. Fartbending combat. Compared to all the other shite going on in this episode, that ridiculously stood out and shouldn't have been present. Also Mako is still a dick.
But how great of a character did they make Lin Beifong? She's now lost literally everything: her love, her job, and her bending. She's also likely lost her Daredevil sense, something I'm guessing helped connect her to her mother. Everything that defines her is now gone, all in the name of a lost love and the city their parents built together. I've come up with a theory on why Lin and Tenzin aren't together, and it makes sense really: Lin is barren and Tenzin must have children in order continue the Air Nomads. I have to feel so bad for Lin, since everything she sacrificed herself for a life that could have been her's at one point but didn't come to pass.

I personally see Korra coming up with a way to restore bending in the end of the second season. Though who knows, maybe they really will stay with the darker tone than the first series with the loss of bending being permanent (which I would like).
But yes, the fart bending and other stuff is just way too kiddy/low brow for this series.

I also have to give credit to the guy who is composing and making the music. It's been pretty damn incredible, and the guy who has done the music for this series will likely go off to do great things.
Also I'm really thinking this is probably the best show currently airing on tv. While GoT isn't currently on the air, and I do think that GoT has superior dialog and characters, I do think this has the better plot, action, and tension.

Yea it is low brow, but I guese they figure if you give a young boy air power, fart attacks would not be long in coming.
I saw this about Amon being a chakra blocker more than taking away the bending art entirely:

Meelo should have merely been a little Aang, not a fartbender. Seriously, earth has metal; water has flesh; fire has lightning; air has farts. What a wonderful sub-bending style.

I believe Amon is the Anti-Avatar sent by an evil spirit to elminate bending from the world. So going from the literal opposite side of the body would be fitting.

I do wonder what would be the hidden dark power of air bending. I bet it would be something like breath bending. I have no idea what would be the next generation bending like metal and lightning.

This is what I was thinking because bending attacks do not effect Amon. The chakra blocking was brought up in a different board and I found it an interesting idea. Amon's red circle on his mask is an chakra point and symbol.
On a side note, my 5 year old daughter loves watching Korra, so I got her to watch the original Avatar on Netflix. Aang goes into the Avatar state in the second episode when he gets knocked off the Fire ship by Zuko before he was a full fledged Avatar.I think we will see Korra go into the Avatar stat as she is getting stronger with the air bending spiritual side of her power.

I hope Amon does take Korra's bending away it would be a huge shock and set up season two nicely.
Also next episode is Skeletons in the Closet so I'm thinking some shite is going to go down in Team Avatar.

We won't see it during this series due to the fact that there is no way any of the current airbenders would do such a thing. I'm guessing we will eventually since they've said they've come up with a lot of stories based in the universe. Breathbending I think it's likely, but maybe also voidbending could be their dark power. Pretty much just bend all the air out of a person's vicinity and render them unconscious or dead almost instantly.

Great to hear you and your daughter both enjoy it together. It's incredible how many demographics this show has gotten.

I can't wait for the season finale. A note of caution for anyone that DVR's the show and watches it later. I believe they said the finale would be an hour long, but my DVR through Dish was only scheduled to record for 30 minutes, so you may need to go and manually set the timer to record for longer so you don't miss anything.

It is there for the kids, and it works. It is worth me having to put up with a little ridiculousness in an otherwise great show to hear my 8 year old twins howling with laughter everytime Meelo is on screen.

Yeah, her character development in this show was amazingly complete in such a short timeframe. Definitely my favorite character so far. I was literally holding my breath hoping she wouldn't lose her bending. I loved her quote to Tenzin about him an his family being the last air benders and that she would protect that at all cost.
I also teared up a little when Meelo said she was his hero and Tenzin's only comment was "yes, she is."
Great to finaly see Tenzin kick some arse.

I wonder if Amon does his energy bending on Korra, would she lose all her bending, or just the bending she can actively use? What I mean is, Korra hasn't been able to do a whit of air bending yet, so would Amon even be able to steal it?
I could see her starting the next season with no bending, and finally learning air bending, growing spiritually, and eventually unlocking her bending that Amon took away. But then, I don't know if they want to re-hash the Avatar only being able to air bend.
Probably won't happen that way, just something I keep thinking every time they bring up Korra's lack of air bending.

I mean, I see what you're saying, but this just wasn't the episode to do it in. You don't do fartbending sequences 6 minutes before doing a live execution/lobotomization of one of the good guys. That's some dark and heavy shite. There's a reason why we didn't see a pie in the face in Shindler's List when they invade the ghettos. It's just like driving a car into a brick wall. It kills the tone and momentum. If it were in a cartoon like "Animaniacs" then fartbending could be completely hilarious and genius, but from the darkness and gravity of this series so far, not only can we not take him and his antics remotely seriously but he completely clashes with the tone. Ikki's humor (the younger airbending kid) works because its just her being a jabber mouth and saying some stuff that only she thinks is important, when its not. Meelo's involves fartbending.
