There's a reason why we didn't see a pie in the face in Shindler's List when they invade the ghettos.
Schindler's List wasn't trying to appeal to both kids and adults. Kora takes on the task of trying to hold the viewers of the older series who have grown and matured as well as appealing to new younger viewers. I agree that fartbending is ridiculous, and I'm sure the writers would also. However, it appeals to the viewers it is meant for. I also agree that it is contrary to the tone of the show, but it doesn't bother me as much as it seems to bother you.

I may have a slight complaint, but I think they're nerfing the characters slightly. Seriously, in the last series, they could take out like 12 Dai Li agents pretty swiftly, and hell I think the Dai Li's powers would be extremely effective against the Equalists due to their speed and grapple abilities. I don't think Toph in the original series would have that much of a problem with them, so why the hell did Beifong even think of metalbending around a guy who is known for taking down metalbenders?

I could see her starting the next season with no bending, and finally learning air bending, growing spiritually, and eventually unlocking her bending that Amon took away. But then, I don't know if they want to re-hash the Avatar only being able to air bend.

I believe Amon is the Anti-Avatar sent by an evil spirit to elminate bending from the world. So going from the literal opposite side of the body would be fitting.
I'm just hoping that they don't pull a Buffy the Vampire Slayer and create 2 Avatars bc technically Aang died twice.

I'd agree a bit on this, but the equalists are basically Ty Lee with electricity attacks, and she gave all the benders major issues in the first series.
That being said, I think the Bei Fong and her men are way too nerfed. They should have been using a combo of earth and metal bending, not just slinging around their metal cords. She amped it up a bit in the last episode or two, but still pretty weak compared to her mom.

Yeah, in that scene where they were in Sato's basement facing the mechs for the first time, I kept thinking "screw the metal bending, I think hurling 400 pound rocks at it or screwing up that things footing is the way to go". It just seems like Earth is by far the best element to take out those mechs with.

Meh, Korra is the hotter one anyways.
I am getting annoyed at the lack of Avatar state badassness. Seriously Korra, step it up.

And I'm thinking Asaimi is going to betray the gang
Well, she seems to not have any hard feelings against Korra, just Mako (and she's right to have them). If she walks in on Korra and Mako making out, then that might change. If she does betray them and Korra loses her bending, then she'll likely immediately regret her decision much like Zuko and make a heel faced turn right after that. Maybe she'll stay on Amon's side for the time being and serve as a spy.

The preview of Korra about to get her bending taken away could always be from a dream sequence or something. TV shows pull that stunt all of the time. With that being said I think (and hope) it really happens because of the suspense it would provide. I, like others, assume this would send her right into the avatar state at the last second and she busts out and raises hell or someone steps in and stops him (maybe like an Asaimi, after she betrayed team avatar and then felt bad about.
As far as sub-bending, after the first season, I thought maybe taking away bending powers could have been air benders sub bending. Its like a spirit bend, since air benders are more spiritual than the other forms. That is why Aang could do it. Obviously now that is not case. I like the idea of void/vacuum bending.

So any predictions for the finale. Mine so far:
The end of this season will be similar to the end of the second season of TLA. Korra will have her bending removed and they must then flee the city. Amon will then begin his war against the other nations. The second season will focus on Korra reviving her bending abilities through fully realizing her Avatar Spirit. Asami will also betray the group, but regret it instantly.
But honestly I'm still clueless on what's actually going to happen.

Thought I read somewhere that these seasons would be much more stand alone than the last series. Though some arcs are going to carry over so it's possible that the losing her bending and getting it back may play a part season 2.
And I've got the solution for that as well.

That would imply that the loss of bending is just an illusion, which would mean if the illusion can be seen through bending will return.

If I had to guess, the illusion would be that their is a separation of benders and non-benders, and that Amon uses that somehow to block Chakra's
Possible story-line for season 2 being that bending, of any element becomes something reachable by anyone?

Is there any proof that Chakras have anything to do with bending (aside from maybe fire and airbending due to rage, tranquility, etc)? It just seems like its essential to merely the Avatar State, nothing more.

That would lessen the importance of the Avatar, so I'd hope they don't go that route.
Though it is interesting that you can have family members, such as the brothers teamed up with Korra, that bend different elements. You would think the brothers would both bend earth or both bend fire.

Not necessarily. Tenzin's sister is a waterbender. If you have a firebender father and an earthbending mother, it should be a decent chance to be either type of bender. In the original show, there were no children who were from international marriages. It's like saying that if your parents have different eye colors, that all siblings should have the same eye color.

Chakra's are basically locations of energy in the body, so it would seem that energy bending and chakra's are intrinsically linked.
Everyone has Chakra's, the Avatar just had to open all of his to control the Avatar state
