I went looking for "Emporer Of The North" with Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine and Keith Carradine on Amazon Prime and a movie called "Blood For Blood" came up with Ernest Borgnine and Michael J. Pollard. Free to Amazon Primers.

It was good, not great, but it had a good plot.
One that would make a helluva remake with a better rewrite.

“Miracle In Cell Number 7”

It’s on Netflix and it’s subtitled in the Turkish language. It’s a very powerful movie and the setting is in the early 1980’s in Turkey. It’s kind of like a Turkish version of “To Kill A Mockingbird”.

The Platform was good—pretty fricked up. If you like series, go watch The Boys on Amazon. Homelander is the fricking man!

Hell or High Water

On Netflix now.Jeff Bridges is excellent as usual and Chris Pyne gives a solid performance.

Good movies I've seen for the first time in April:

Eighth Grade - Prime
The Nice Guys - HBO
Cemetery of Splendor - Prime (Strand channel free trial)
Kaili Blues - Prime (Topic channel free trial)
Annihilation - Prime
Us - HBO
Honey Boy - Prime
Super Dark Times - Netflix

All good but if I had to rank them they would be roughly in that order, top to bottom.

Eighth Grade is a complete vision; thoughtful, rewarding and well done.
The Nice Guys is a fun, refreshing buddy comedy (would probably be my 1st rec for most).
Cemetery of Splendor and Kaili Blues are both arthouse, region specific movies that I really enjoyed. Movies to ponder / non traditional plots.

Watched Jojo Rabbit the other day. I thought it was probably one the best movies I’ve seen in years.

Last movie I saw was pre-quarantine 1917 in theaters. It was really good.

I keep seeing people say this so I tell myself I need to watch it. Then when I sit down, I watch the preview again and think to myself, “what the frick are they smoking? No way I’m watching this dumb shite.”

Trailer doesn't do it justice. It's pretty funny, but also a deep movie, not just a comedy like the preview shows. Jojo Rabbit is probably in my top 10 from the past 5 years

Honey Boy, also on Prime, was very good. I've always been a Shia Lebeouf fan.

Honey Boy is a damn good movie, it deserved a Best Picture nom over Once Upon a Time and Irishman imo.

I’m probably biased since I watched Even Stevens every day after school growing up. Fascinating and sad to see how chaotic Shia’s life was at that time

ETA: Honey Boy is a biopic about his childhood that he wrote in rehab if you didn’t know going in
