Anybody seeing "Fly Me To the Moon" (fake moon landing sattire) this weekend?

Basically feels like a halfway remake of Wag The Dog, only likely not as good and an added romance angle.
I also don't think the premise is just them filming a staged landing because they couldn't get film equipment to work in space... So it's not a complete (we faked the landing altogether film).

No, I don't need it. While he was fixing something on my bike, an old 80 year old uncle of a friend down the street, told the story to me in 1969. Right after adjusting his overalls, he said, "Ain't nobody been to no damn moon. They just went out in the desert and made a movie. Hand me those pliers."
I never forgot it. Mr. Gregory, his brother who lived two houses away, and his wife, used to sit in green rocking chairs dipping snuff on their front porch. I have lots of similar stories they told during those years on Crawford St., in the great state of Mississippi. We lived up the street. It was paved, but the streets on either end were still gravel.
Tommy, the drunk, who's wife would call my mom and tell her to get the kids off the street because Tommy's coming home, lived next door. He was the guy that hooked his TV up to my dad's antenna. It caused some interference, so my dad went out to check the antenna, found the wire running over the fence, and jerked it, breaking Tommy's TV.
A house between the Gregory's and Tommy's had another alcoholic who got sent to Whitfield for drinking Vitalis, a couple of times.
Those were fun days!

This feels like a flick Wes Anderson could pull off very well.

Haven't seen it, but it looks fun. I get kind of a light hearted Wag The Dog vibe..

Saw it today—very good rom-dramedy. Some LOL moments. Ray Romano and especially Woody Harelson are excellent. Good chemistry between ScarJo and Tatum.
Costumes are exactly right for the times as is the sense of pride Americans had in those days. 8/10, worth seeing on big screen.

No, but a movie on Amazon that was released maybe last week, looked similar and almost fooled me into watching it because I thought it was Fly Me To The Moon.

Saw it last night.
I'd say "fun" is an apt description.
Respectful of the historical subject matter weaving throughout the story but doesn't take itself too seriously. Chuckle-worthy humor throughout. Keep in mind at its core it's a PG-13 rom-com, but the space aspect definitely adds a bit of intrigue, IMO.
Not a bad theater flick if you still want to catch it with the wife. Only con might be that the runtime (2 hours 12 minutes) feels a tad long.
Definitely worth a stream at a later date if you already subscribe to Apple TV+.

I bet A Walk on the Moon from 1999 is a better movie. Pretty sure I remember it having the 1969 moonwalk in the background of a sex scene between Hippie Viggo and Diane Lane..
