Yes and no. They are kind of hit or miss as they go along, but as a whole, the series is still pretty enjoyable.

Coming from someone who never have a frick about Harry Potter at all...I watched the moves after the first two or three had come out. I figured it would be stupid and I would hate it because of, you know, magic and wizards and shite. But I came away really impressed with them and caught the rest in theaters IIRC. They are just plain good movies. And pretty highly rewatchable as well.

And whether you’re a HP fan or not, the HP shite in the Universal parks is pretty amazing honestly. The rides, the setting, just everything about it is awesome. Oh, and get a frozen butterbeer. Thank me later.

Everybody has an a-hole so take it for what it is, just their opinion. Personally Goblet of Fire is my least favorite, but that doesn't mean it is bad.

The ending is just wrong, changes are made that just make ZERO sense and really don't give you the same feeling as finishing the books.

Yep. 90% of the people who make fun of Harry Potter movies have never actually seen them. I mean, if I had never seen them and someone tried to explain the plot to me I would think they were dumb too.

The movies get really good with the third and are very enjoyable. The people who are disgusted with the films are those who read the books and expected it to be a 1:1 shot of said books.

Watching movies will for sure help you understand theming of Universal Studios and Island of Adventures. If you enjoy movies you should really consider reading the books.

If you've read all of the books you wouldn't make that "threat".

What really pissed me off the most about Half-Blood Prince is that they cut the entire fight scene during Snape's escape from Hogwarts in favor of a chase scene at the Weasley's between Harry and Bellatrix Lestrange that wasn't even in the book. Beyond that, they turned what was arguably the darkest book in the series into a romantic comedy.

Half Blood Prince is an incredible book but the movie fricked it up.

Yep. People who have never read the books but who have seen the movies will never know how angry a good majority of Harry Potter fans were over the direction they went with the film adaptation of HBP. I absolutely hated that movie.

Well, at least until the end of Part II then it jumps the shark largely due to some idiot producer.

So the reason we got an action movie ending, instead of the slow burn confrontation in the books, is because of a producer?

With the technology to make movies today, if they chose to reshoot the entire Harry Potter series for something like Netflix or HBO Max and stayed faithful to the books which includes such things as Peeves, SPEW, Winky, Hermione's war with Rita Skeeter along with much more accurate and deep dives it would be a totally different story. That much was either changed or left out!

IMO things started going really south at the end of Prisoner of Azkaban. In the Book, Harry did not fly away on the Firebolt in the end and one of the best parts of the Book was the letter Sirius wrote for Professor McGonagall giving Harry Permission to go to Hogsmeade as his godfather and the letter was accepted. That's one of many little things I would love to see in an extended series.

The park is amazing. The kids will love it. All of the rides are great. Like cocomo said, get the butter beer. Enjoy fish and ships in the 3 Broomsticks. Make sure you get tickets to both parks, so you can ride the Hogwarts Express.
