I wonder if he kind of misspoke and was trying to convince foreigners that the movie is for everyone not just Americans?

Sounds reasonable.

With politics, yea, they don't matter. But when it comes to their actual movies, they do matter a good bit. It's been shown numerous times how an actor putting their foot in their mouth or angering the fan base that it can effect the bottom line.

It is reasonable. Mackie made a very nuanced comment that certain folks don't want to hear because it's perceived to be a slight against "america".

It's not like Captain America ever had a problem with America ever in the comics or the MCU

Hanging your hat on a lead actor of color as Captain America who then gaslights an audience that the it shouldn't be about America, is such a disney thing to do.

Not only did he assure this movie will fail he also basically destroyed the character of Falcon for as long as he plays the character.

This doesn't surprise me. I always got the impression he thought he was an A-List guy when in reality, if he didn't get made Captain America, he would have sunk back to relative obscurity. He's not a great actor by any stretch.

I’m no fan of woke but captain America is about idealism of American, not necessarily American interests. And importantly this was from him talking in a different country to promote the movie - you know where’d they aren’t American.

Met him a few times and I’ve always found him nice. Maybe he’s not nice when working?

If anything, that series is proving how resilient LotR is. It is pretty much h immune from outside sources trying to destroy it. We know what Tolkien’s vision is, and it’s not Jeff Bezos’ vision or the superfans who say that Sauron is so hot and can be changed.

We have to start believing there isn't enough context or Disney tells them to say this shite so that way they can blame it's failure on bigots

Nonsense. What was nuanced about it? Please enlighten us with what he meant by it. He talks about kids slaying dragons and playing make believe. What dragon does he think he's slaying?
