Thanks for the info.

Guess our definition of worthless is different….

Worthless is arguing about someone’s opinion on message boards. I was just stating facts.

Good series but I was extremely disappointed they couldn't get someone other than Rob O'Neil. There are so many holes in his story and people who were there have said he is lying.

I would have just liked a different perspective other than his. We have all heard his retelling multiple times.

Shooting Bin Laden.

More than one other SEAL has said his version of events isn't accurate.

The journalist having a contemplative moment of passion for the death of another human being (Bin Laden), then snapping out of it and going “Nah, frick him.” cracked me up.

We were watching this and thought it was pretty good, but during this moment I looked over at my wife as the journo was trying to talk about Bin Laden being a human, and I could see my wife starting get VERY heated like "turn this shite off" but the moment was saved.

It was the Lead officer for the Khost base who made that decision because they didn’t want to scare him off. She was killed in the bombing

The entire segment about enhanced interrogation tactics was a move to somehow garner sympathy. The guy saying the tactics were and are ineffective

Which they later contradict by basically saying that KSM underwent advanced interrogation and sang like a canary (for the most part) after that

My wife and I kinda watched over the weekend. She saw the whole thing but I fell asleep for the first 2 so I've only seen episode 3 but I really liked it. I especially liked all the recon/logistics/planning in tracking OBL and his courier guy and planning for the raid. I'm fascinated by stuff like that.

I don't think that is what they were saying.

Earlier they said he told them all about the organization unless it would lead to Bin Laden.

Later they said he had undergone enhanced interrogation and just said the courier wasn't with Al Queda anymore.

Then he went and told the other prisoners not to talk about the courier. They only caught it because the cells were bugged.

Under enhanced techniques we gained some useful information, but nothing that led to Bin Laden. Were they really effective and did they provide anything truly useful. I am not morally opposed to using them, but think it is worth exploring whether the info gained through these techniques is trustworthy.

No, he said they never got any closer to Bin Laden even after KSM had undergone enhanced interrogation. The quote was something like "KSM knew the entire Al-Qaeda network and it's inner workings when he was caught and never gave us anything about Bin Laden."

It just shows some Americans aren’t willing to do whatever it takes to win a war. It’s ugly and awful but when your enemy wants you dead and are willing to clack off a vest or fly a plane into a building I’ll support enhanced interrogation all day

I imagine the decision to let that suicide bomber drive right through to the CIA agents without stopping and searching him was made by someone high up the chain behind a desk. I can't see the agents with boots on the ground thinking this was a good idea especially considering there had already been suicide bombings in the past.

The CIA station chief made the call. There were some Delta guys that were there and warned it was a bad idea. Delta wanted to search the guy outside of the FOB but The Station chief didn’t want to spook the guy off.

Bob Poras former Delta guy on Shawn Ryan talks about Khost bombing. Good watch.

Most cia, nsa, air force/navy intel I worked with while deployed were HAF. A deployment 10 is a US 6.

Interesting watch. Wish they had more SEALs than one commit to talk more about the attack.

Main takeaways:
- Rumsfeld was your typical bitch government employee living in luxury off taxpayer dollars.

- gained more respect for Obama as a leader.

- Biden showed why he’s a career politician. Thank God he’s no longer in office.

Majority of the 'Silent Professional' community do not come out publicly on details. Lots of humor in regards to seals writing books or speaken out about missions. Priest, vegan. & SEAL walk into a bar, how do you know? They told you.

I have considered watching this several times when I logged into NF but didn't because I hate watching docs about stories that have been "done to death" ......multiple books, other docs, movies, etc.

Will I learn anything new from this one or is it just a retelling of the same story from a different view?

I finished it yesterday. I don't recall anything new. It's basically Zero Dark Thirty, but less entertaining.

Crazy how he got away from Tora Bora

This could have been a much better documentary, but Netflix's insistence of adding that stupid overly dramatic music to all their documentaries is incredibly annoying.
