I'd rather people speculate what happened with this guy than the people that post spoilers to prove a point.

I think that it was definitely someone that she knew. Furthermore, I think that more are in the barn as they are not permitted to go near it and their guns were taken away.

probably got some in the barn and this happened to be one that got loose and stumbled into the well. They may have family in there and they are keeping them alive by feeding strangers to them in hopes a cure can be found one day.

Do the zombies need to feed to stay alive? Or do they just feed and bite people because thats what they do? Homedude hanging from the tree was alive, and surely he hasn't eaten in a long time.

We don't know all the "rules" of the zombies in this universe, but people on this board believe that they indeed do need food to be a zombie worth a damn. And if not, then they just rot and die.

I think the consensus is that feeding will keep them "fresher". If they don't feed they begin to shutdown and stiffen up however given the opportunity to feed I think zombies can find the "energy".

Remember, they dissected the zombie with the woodchuck in its stomach so it could have some effect on its health if zombies have a digestive system. However, the first zombie Rick killed (the half woman from the internet shorts) didn't even have a lower torso.

You forgot that it's a virus. That means it spreads if you get zombie blood on you, or one sneezes on you, or you have sex with a zombie. All viable ways to get the zombie virus.

This episode was meh. Not much happened other than them failing to clean a well properly. One dumb thing about that: if the simple prolongled presence of a zombie in water can make the water infectious, wouldn't rummelng through a Zombies innards or getting sprayed with their blood infect a person?

You have to get scratched or bitten. Just getting their blood on you doesn't do anything.

As for the feeding part, they do not need to feed. Look at the zombie who hung himself. Has not fed at all, but was still alive. Does feeding make them "stronger" maybe. It is more of a craving for them, basic primal instinct than anything else. Plus, the crave brains.

The sex with zombies part didn't give away the sarcasm? Or zombies sneezing?

I think you could get away with raping a zombie as long as you wrap it up.
