I'm very interested in the fishing pier.
Also seeing the dugout shelter complete & functional in the harsh winter.

Wow..Jordan tapped on day 19. He had the skills to go deep into the game. He built a great shelter and looked strong.

I always find it fascinating how one's own thoughts can betray you more than anything. I can't imagine going through what he went through losing a child. You never get over something like that and hopefully one day he will learn to live with it.

As for the other contestants, I'm digging the dugout shelter and the pier....

I wonder if that Lake will freeze over?

I also notice one of the captions saying that local regulations don't allow squirrel hunting. WTF?

I'm curious if that pier will hold up. Also these people need to make some kind of net so they stop losing the fish. Depending on how long until the lake freezes over that boat may be the game changer in catching fish.

I can't believe the guy tapped. You can't go a month without your family? There are guys that go months just cause of work or deployment. They know where you are. They agreed to let you go. I'm pretty sure someone could come tell you if something dramatic happened. So many people are fighting to be on the show and it is a huge prize. It is beyond disappointing to watch people quit cause of homesickness less than a month in. He should be ashamed..

Once he opened up about the life and death of his daughter I figured he would be leaving soon. He said he was a very private person and him letting the world know probably took some weight off his chest by finally talking about it.

I just don't care about the emotional stuff. He took the opportunity from someone else and wasted it.

I really wish they would steer away from most of the introspective chatter. I get it. The people are lonely and horny. It shouldn't be most of the show, watching the people cry and stare at the lake..

Completely agree
Stop making this a show you’d expect to see on network tv. I don’t give a frick about your problems. And quit wasting air time on that stupid shite. They probably spent 30 minutes of the 180 minutes thus far on someone who didn’t deserve to be out there and bitched out, not to mention the dumbass that barely has a functioning heart. Spend the most airtime on the people that deserve it, not the pussies that tap out early for stupid reasons.

I want to see more of the shelters. We’ve seen like 3 fish caught in 4 fricking episodes. Not sure if there’s been anything else shown that they have eaten. It’s a fricking survival show, not a drama reality show.

Exactly. I want to see that process. Unfortunately, most of the contestants are not that good this year. Some of these shelters are just sad. The guy that just quit had one of the best ones. I was looking forward to him finishing the roof and insulating it.

Btw, I love the dug out shelter. It is looking pretty solid. Did she mud in the walls, like adobe? That would make it really solid. I'm just worried about the rain and water getting in. Plus I don't like putting in the chimney last. I think that should have been done near the beginning. I am not sure I would even put a chimney in my shelter. How many times have people lost everything due to a fire on the show?

I think these early quitters use these family issues as the excuse to quit. Once they get it in their heads that things are tough they start looking for the excuse so it doesn't look like the reason they tapped was being weak...The first guy used a heart condition and the second guy had the family drama.

I'm with you. I want to see the survival skills such as bushcraft, trapping, hunting, etc...

The chimney needs to be all rock, and almost outside the shelter, like a real one. That’s what I’d like to see built.
I think the girl with the dug out hut is going to do one off to the side all rock. She should have a pretty awesome shelter.

I agree but the producers on these shows have this shite down to a science. I think they purposely pick a few people that they know won't last long. First of all it has the viewer see how hard the challenge is. Secondly and I think more important it allows the show to focus more on a few people that are great and will be there for a long time. They want the viewer to get invested/attached to a few people on the show so they'll be sure to watch. They'd rather a guy like Roland get more airtime sooner than a guy like the one this season who left with a heart issue.

This season feels like it could go long, especially once the bears go away. These shelters are better than I remember seeing in the past.

Ready for tonight.

And how pissed would you be if you were his wife and he spent all this time preparing, cost you money not working, and then tapped because he was a homesick wuss?!?! I saw lots of folks bad mouthing Kielyn last season because she cried, but she got it out, got with the program and stayed for 80 days. If she hadn't lost that fish, she would have been there longer. I totally don't mind hearing a bit about "their journey", but he was seriously disappointing!

The best shelter so far was the guy that quit and he still didn't have a roof. The dug out could be pretty solid. But a lot of them are really sad and just not solid at all.

After watching other seasons. You know you have to have a great shelter. I would expect some really awesome ones after last seasons rock house. The one girls is the only original concept I have seen this season. I know a lot is dependent on where you get dropped off and what is handy. But they should be doing a lot better.

Two Taps tonight. Michelle and Matt.

Michelle is the first to tap and not hide behind her family as an excuse to quit. She was thin going into the game and admitted she couldn't get enough food.

Matt wouldn't admit that the reason he tapped was he was failing at getting food and hid behind his family.

There is more person drama this season and less survival skills which I don't care for. Hopefully when these early taps are gone the better players will shine more in their skills.

This season has been slower than past seasons. These remaining folks need to get some food asap.

Jordon was looking good but I can’t imagine when completely alone with your thoughts what goes through your mind when you’ve lost a little girl like that. Terrible situation to have to push through mentally. Hated to see him tap over that.

Once the shelter is built, that’s all there is to do other than gather food and many can’t do that.

The hippie from USVI is having a mental breakdown because he realizes his survival training business will be closing soon
