That season of Fargo was great. Jason Schwartzman, Oliphant, Jessie Buckley, and Jack Huston gave great performances. If you couldn't watch it because it had bad cops and two good black people out of thirty, that's on you.

They do realize who wrote Lord of The Rings right? JRR Tolkien was like the most Catholic dude who ever existed. I'm glad he focused on language and writing, because LOTR might be cancelled if he ever publicly stated his beliefs on homosexuality.

I don’t watch Fargo or even know what it’s about except that apparently all the other seasons the cop was a good guy. I’m being objective and providing evidence as to his intentions

It was a good season of television, but it never felt like Fargo. What the first few seasons did so well was capture the mood and intensity of the movie. There was a feeling of stress/tension in nearly every scene of the movie, which was reflected really well by the first few seasons of the show. This was just lacking from the Chris Rock season.
So the criticism is warranted in that it never felt like I was watching something in the Fargo universe. It was still good television though

Oliphant plays a good cop. It wasn't a case of good minorities vs bad cops. It's the Italian mob pushing out the Irish mob and then battling the Black mob. The good and bad cops are intertwined in the battle.

Normally a show starts out entertaining and THEN loses viewers when it goes woke. They’re just coming out guns blazing and guaranteeing no one will watch.

making a political statement is not easy, when done well you can get great art like The Wire even if the message is from a point of view the viewer may disagree with. but more often than not when someone is throwing around the current hot buzz phrases it winds up being drek like Picard or Star Trek Discovery

What a steaming load of garbage. Pretentious virtue signaling nonsense. The word “ inequity“ wasn’t even used in 1979 when the first movie came out. It is a social justice construct that they are trying to shove down the throats of Sci fi fans.

For starters, the franchise has already worn itself out. So void of ideas they are now simply re-telling the original story but from a social justice warrior perspective. Secondly, Avatar did the very same thing. But it didn’t need to run back over its own creation and try to virtue signal to the audience. It did enough of that originally when it stole the storyline from Pocahontas.

Yaphet Koto’s character sure bitched about it in Alien. Then you had the prejudice and xenophobia towards androids in Aliens. It’s not the main focus, but whether it’s the peons in the machine room or the disposable grunts and androids, the franchise has had subplots dealing with inequality.
