I don’t see where inequality has anything to do with the Alien series.
The director/writer/whatever is REALLY reaching.
Yes, it’s a show, but the concept is a rejection of reality within human society.
There will always be “leaders” and there will always be “peons”.
The only thing that ever changes is the “illusion of control” given to the peons.

Maybe he was just using buzzwords to get the message out about his show. Its cringe but not unusual. If you are going to do an Alien tv series thats not just a bughunt of the week then I think diving into Weyland Yutani Corp and how it functions and exploits workers, resources, colonists, etc is not a bad idea.

there in lies the problem, a good writer does not or should not have to explain the meaning before hand, hell the point is for the audience to figure it out, interpret it themselves. If someone is saying all the buzz words to get the woke virtue singling (to borrow some over used buzz words) at the beginning that's a troubling sign.
Alien is a monster movie, Halloween in space, but as someone noted it does explore the nameless faceless corp/bureaucracy exploiting the workers. Aliens has the vintage 80's yuppie, down to is popped collar and also touched on bigotry with Bishop an Ridley's feelings about androids but we don't need Scott or Cameron to explain it.

That was Rian Johnson trying to get his fans to see it, and it was still an undercurrent. Granted it was down played, but the character archetypes were pretty clear.
It wasn't not there because it wasn't intended to be, it wasn't there because it was lazily done.

This is a good point. It reminds of the saying, if you have to explain a joke it means it wasn't a very good joke.

That's exactly my point. When we're talking about the Alien Franchise, stick to Science Fiction, not political commentary.
Alien already has a backstory. An ancient alien race found out how to create life. The life they created (Human Beings) ended up being destructive to one another and their environment. The creator then regretting making humans and decided the universe would be better off without them. So they then created the Alien creature in an effort to undo what they did by creating man.
That story makes sense and has been honed over the last 50 years. Saying income inequality caused our destruction from an alien race is one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard. Money is only valuable to human beings, why would aliens give a flying frick about what we find valuable on earth?

Science Fiction has long been a genre for commentary on "current" issues. Ready Player One and Elisium are ScFi that touches on this same issue

The characters have to tell you everything.
How they feel, what they are thinking, etc.
The audience is too idiotic to figure it out themselves, at least I believe that is what Hollywood believes.

I would hope that the engineers are incorporated into the series at some point. Was the reason why they wanted to destroy earth ever explained? Could Hawley be planning a second encounter in which Weiland Yutani pisses off another planet of engineers due to their greed. IDK but I think there is room to explore a lot of the themes and back story including the fact the WY treats its employees and colonist as expendable assets.
