Roeseanne's biggest enemy has always been Roseanne.
She is a talented actor/comedian/writer/producer who just happens to be a complete a-hole.
Well if you do business with her you go into it knowing she's going to have a complete a-hole moment once or twice a year. If you can't handle Roseanne at full a-hole then you don't hire her in the first place.
Whether she leans liberal (which she has) or conservative (her current tack but that could change at any minute) the one constant as the Northern Star is that she will be an a-hole. Either don't do business with her or expect her to live down to your expectations.

Norm said she's liberal but she's single issue on Israel, and she thought Obama disrespected Israel so she supported Trump who was pro-Israel.
I've never cared for her, but it's kind of hilarious that network execs thought they could just ditch her and keep doing the Roseanne show without Roseanne.
John Goodman is strong enough to carry a show, but this was a dumb way to do it.

I imagine Roseanne is more of an idiot than an actual racist.
Still not a good luck to refer to any black person as an ape or monkey, but it's a shame some people do look or act like certain animals.. regardless of their actual ethnicity.

Whether or not she should have been fired immediately without giving it sufficient thought and discussion is obviously open for debate, but this lie was so transparent you could take high-definition pictures through it. She clearly had strong opinions about Jarret and didn't even know that extremely basic thing about her? She was trying to cover her arse, and just made it worse because, well, it was such a transparent lie that people became even less inclined to believe any of the other excuses she tried to roll out.
