There is no world in which this means anything OTHER than Jimmy is saying that the shooter was in fact 'one of them'.
You left out bolding the relevant first part of the quote. He didn’t say the shooter was MAGA, he described the MAGA reaction immediately following the shooting.

Never said it was fine or good. It’s just an observation that there were no free speech concerns over the last 5 years and all of a sudden it’s a problem because it’s happening to the left.

He did, but its a moot point either way. He was bitching about the right trying to do something for political points. Which is exactly what he was doing.
He already addressed the Charlie Kirk thing earlier and gave his condolences. He didnt need to even bring it up again but he couldnt help himself from turning it political.

This whole thing is ridiculous. Anyone with 1/2 a brain knows what he was doing. He absolutely took the guy’s death as a way to blame MAGA.

Maybe ABC will try and run the show with guest hosts.
I doubt Kimmel does what Conan did. In 2007, during the WGA strike, Conan paid his staff out of pocket; in 2010, when he was let go, he covered 6 weeks worth of severance for 50 stage hands (who were not entitled to severance).
I'll see if Kimmel helps his staff out during all this with his fortune or not; it wouldn't excuse his words but it would be a good gesture all the same.

You have zero proof of this.
Nexstar own the hill and newsnation among other companies. They aren't exactly liberal. Kimmel did enough on his own to cause them to pull. Same with Sinclair.
Did you know that 66 affiliates threatened to pull Kimmel off the air immediately after those comments? That didn't happen that fast and to that range because of the FCC.
Kimmel let his mouth overload his arse. Just admit he's an a-hole and this is the consequences of being an a-hole. Better than getting shot and killed for his comments.
