Ratatouille

This one isn't mentioned enough, but it's the first thing that came to mind for me.

I'd also add Once. That movie has no flaws.

Rushmore gets my vote.

Perfect acting, script, direction, plot, everything just works right from beginning to end.

It's true. It's a kids movie, but it's perfect.

I have kids now and the best of the kids movies are Fantastic Mr Fox

I don't think Fantastic Mr Fox is a kid's movie. I mean, it's fine to show to kids, but I think it's an adult movie that happens to be animated. I get that it's based on Roald Dahl, but Dahl's "children's" work was all kind of adult too and I think there are pubic schools that don't read his books anymore because they have been seen as too adult or subversive for today's soft children.

Movie perfection has always been Jaws for me.

What I'm talking about is a movie where everything just works. The cast, their chemistry, the plot, possibly action, possibly humor, even the score.

Casablanca.

For the OP's consideration, certainly some of the Reitman films deserve mention, Caddyshack and Ghostbusters to name 2.

Casablanca is ranked one of the GOAT films precisely because of all the pieces coming together perfectly.

I think Shawshank fits the bill as well. For me, obviously, Blade Runner is perfect.

Pulp Fiction and Goodfellas have to be in this conversation, as well.

Dredd
Dark Knight
Ocean's 11
Deadpool
Prestige
Departed
Shawshank Redemption
MM:FR

HM:
Guardians of the Galaxy
Inception

these are movies i will say that the director knew what he was going for and executed brilliantly. whether or not it's a great movie is up for debate, but i feel like those were nailed if the director and i are on the same page for their goals.

ETA: Interstellar was thisclose to make this list but the GD bookcase scene.

From this decade I think The Social Network and Whiplash are pretty close to perfect.
