I posted this in one of the Home Alone threads a long time ago but I was actually thinking today how much this could really work.

The plot: Harry and Marv are out of prison in a soup kitchen looking for one final score. Kevin McCallister, now a world-famous art thief after putting all the talents he learned in the first two movies to work, has lost everything due to a criminal friend’s betrayal. Desperate for food, Kevin goes to the soup kitchen and runs into Harry and Marv. Kevin ends up teaming up with them on a grand heist to steal his money back, teaching them how to be proper thieves (with many funny callbacks to how bad they were at being criminals). In the end, Kevin learns about friendship and loyalty from Harry and Marv, and they, in turn, realize how much they respect Kevin.

The movie's title: Homeless Alone

Make it more adult aimed at the audience who grew up loving it.

I think people want to remember that kid as the cute, inventive little rascal that thwarted burglars from the family home. Not some paroled criminal working in some soup kitchen and teaming up with his former adversaries.

He’s not paroled. He’s a famous robin hood type thief betrayed and left with nothing by a partner thief.

I would have loved one more sequel with Harry, Marv, and Kevin, but that window has closed.

Sounds a little like The Italian Job.

The wet bandits die but before they can go to heaven they have to help Kevin's loser kids through various troubles and drama....all while Kevin and his wife are out of town!

If you’re going to have Kevin grow up and act like Home Alone took place in the real world, then you’re going to have to accept that Harry and Marv are dead.

Kevin killed them and mutilated their bodies in the first movie.

You didn’t say Robin Hood type thief in your plot description.

his skills are literally the opposite of what an art thief does.

If anything he would work in security systems
