Re-watched the episode last night and after the credits numerous show runners talked about Egg running off without Dad's permission. The main show runner said "we're going to have to see what the repercussions are of that."
I seriously hate that decision. I mean it is the exact same thing that happened in season 1. Why are you doing another "Egg is missing" storyline and I guess Dunk has kidnapped him again? We've already been through this
I said it in the book spoiler thread too but I think it lessens Maekors character a little too. It was pretty admirable and humble to let Egg go off with Dunk and now he is just going to come off completely different.
Great season overall though, just hope they don't change up too much.

If they make it more than Maekar just accepting it and sending support then its a mistake. I get it if its just a "that little rascal" moment to enforce that Egg is unruly but if they intend to make it whole thing with Maekar hunting him down then I agree its a bad idea.

Hodor of Hodors here, but I felt when Dunk and Maekar were speaking about Egg squiring “He’s my last son” that was recognition and acceptance that he had messed up his older boys and would allow him to walk the path of a hedge knight.
The sleeping in the ditch comment and how his kids had not done that hit home for Maekar. I’d bet my grandfather who was a Marine in WW2 thought my father who went to Vietnam was soft. I bet my father thought his boys were softer than baby poop. I know I see my kids as less tough as we were in the 80s-90s.
I don’t expect there will be much come of it from the Targs.

This feels like a personal vendetta against women for you. The recaps I’ve watched have all said she found an opportunity to raise her station.
Not to mention, they don't get divorced in Westeros when a woman cheats, they cut off her head. Seems like high stakes to play with if she just wants to be whore.

Sweet. Probably means there's not much to be read into him not wanting Dunk to leave and his last line was more for comedic purposes.
