A knight of the nine kingdoms title card was a nice add.

"A true Knight always finishes the story" - was that a knock at George RR Martin?

Now get to steppin on Season 2 before Egg’s balls drop, and it better have 10 episodes at 45 mins a piece bare minimum.

They've been filming since December

Why would Dunk deny the brother? Seems like a much better life.

Didn't think about that but it certainly sounds like one. Though they are working fairly closely with GRRM so I doubt they were.

I didn’t even notice that.

The irreverent humor is this show is refreshing. It feels like GoT but completely different at the same time.

Definitely would be the smarter decision, but probably wouldn't make for a very interesting story.

Who would have thought GoT could be so wholesome?

I liked having mixed feelings about the characters in GoT (eg: we hated jamie, then started to root for him, then didn't like him again). Almost everyone was an "anti hero" except for maybe the Starks.

So this was a nice change of pace. The Targaryens are playing the "shades of grey" roles. And I think they're good too.

I quit on the first episode 3 times before someone told me to push through. I'm glad they did.

I hate to tell you that unless they really dive into Blackfyre Rebellion flash backs, it'll be much the same as far as length. The Novellas just aren't very long and they'd have to leave source material to make it longer.

So did the brother see the knife Egg had? I couldn’t tell

What would he have done had he caught him in the act?

I wondered the same. especially given that Egg drops the knife and it makes a loud sound. Seems like the father would be more concerned when one brother tried to murder the other.

I love Egg. There, I said it. The young actor that portrays him is adorable.

I don't think he did. I think it was more that the dad caught him and the shame he felt/dad knowing the torture that Aerion has done to Egg. In an odd way a wholesome moment between Egg and his dad.

The first few pages of this thread...

Boring af

The humor was cringe. Not sure how far this show will go

The bald kid was cringe. Bad actor

CPSLSU alter so not surprising...

Gary Hobson

Not a great actor

Madking

Extremely bizarre and jarring moment. The Lyonel Baratheon scenes were very odd as well as the whore scenes. Doesn’t have the feel and aesthetic of Westeros so far.

This one cracked me up

Madking

Well they weren’t really whores, they were called that but they’ve been glammed up and are really fitness and health gurus. It’s a modernity thing, again compare them to any of the whores past in this universe and it’s easy to see.

Not a lot happening in this episode, other than Egg disobeying his father and riding off with Dunk.

Idk. I think he did know, simply because they edited in the sound of the knife hitting the floor so loud

Very well could have noticed. Just looked asleep/knocked out to me.

Either way it shouldn't matter too much because Egg is gone and Aerion is getting sent off for a few years too.

He did. It’s why he said something to him and we loudly hear the knife clank on the floor.

I don’t think he would’ve been terribly surprised if he caught him in the act but in Westeros being a kinslayer is a pretty big stain.

ETA: I mean Maekar, not Aerion knowing it.

Beg to differ. I think it did a pretty good job showing all the different paths that lay ahead for many of the characters we’ve only gotten glimpses of so far. Dunk had a lot of opportunities presented to him that may have led him astray from becoming a good man and a good knight. Egg, when he felt Dunk wasn’t going to let him be his squire, immediately came very close to going down a bad path himself. We see Baratheon lay his cards on the table in his offer to Dunk, as well as the bad blood boiling towards the Crown which was brilliant foreshadowing for Robert’s Rebellion. Raymun, after being knighted and gaining glory having handled himself quite well in the trial of seven, will return home to be an apple orchard man and make babies with his new whoore wife. Maekar must carry the weight that he’s the heir after living in his brother’s shadow, and has to reign in his sons and put them each on oaths that will hopefully make them better men, although I don’t see much changing in Aerion. Pretty much followed the way GoT usually structures the second to last episode as having the most punch, then the last episode wraps things up and sets up what’s coming next season.

I posted on here after the second episode that I was eating crow for saying I didn’t like it

Egg really grew on me and this was a fabulous show. I’m bummed it’s over but I can’t wait for next year.
