Season 2 is one of the best

You only feel that it’s dragging because you watched S1 and it took a while to get attached to the story and characters, and by the time you did BOOM it was the end of the season and they threw you back into the water of the unknowns with new characters and a new scenery.

Believe me you’ll appreciate it as you get through

Well said

Lost steam in S2, never picked it back up

Keep meaning to get back into it

I’m in season 5, and I’m perplexed at how people think this is the best show ever. The character development is shite. I don’t really care about any of the characters at all.

If they had simply stayed with the season 1 plot line and then introduced the kids in either season 2 or 3 and had those 2 story lines intertwine for the rest of the way, it would have been much better IMO.

I did the same thing in college but picked it back up. Season 2 actually turned out to be really good IMO.

So jelly - Season 2 is polarizing - if you ever rewatch the series, you'll likely realize how wrong your first impression is

I skipped season 2 my first time watching the series, ended up watching it last. Thought it was great.

I watched it live and it was amazing but once it ended with no end game it lost everything it had going for it.

and damn Season 2 (docks) is dragging, hard to continue...

I love All Prologue (I think it's one of the middle episodes). Other than that, the season is still worth watching, but you'll enjoy the other seasons more.

I don't get the S2 hate.

Is it slow? Sure. But that doesn't stop it from being good/interesting.

It doesn't suck, but it was hard to care about the dock characters except Frank and Nick. Also, I spent the entire season hoping someone would strangle Ziggy just to get him off my screen.

That’s legit retarded considering everything that drives the barksdale storyline in season 3 is driven by events in season 2

Please no one make that guys mistake

I'm watching the series now. Season Two is what's going to bring a bunch of things all together.

that was sort of the point. Stevedores were squeezed out somewhat like coal miners have been. Or say a bunch of workers who once worked at a steel mill or a paper mill.

the economy changed and it swallowed up a lot of jobs.

**** Spoiler***

there was also exceptional police work done in that season but ultimately their efforts were cut short by a FBI agent on the take I guess who notified the Greek about Frank's cooperation with the cops and that got him killed.

plus McNulty's legendary drunken bender when he smashed his car twice under a bridge trying to make a turn and subsequent hook up with a waitress is hard to top.
