Lost is great. Not good, it's great. If you've never seen it, you should watch it.
Meh. Opinions vary. I'm not going to watch it. Abrams is dead to me.

Fair enough. Opinions definitely do vary. I'd encourage you to give Lost a shot though. If you're not intrigued in the first episode with the loud noise coming from the island, I'd be shocked.

I keep hearing how good it is but I am scared to devote the time because of my experience binge watching that piece of crap Lost.

Season 2 is one of the best
You only feel that it’s dragging because you watched S1 and it took a while to get attached to the story and characters, and by the time you did BOOM it was the end of the season and they threw you back into the water of the unknowns with new characters and a new scenery.
Believe me you’ll appreciate it as you get through

1st time watching The Wire and damn Season 2 (docks) is dragging, hard to continue...
Greatest show ever. Watched it again recently and season is amazing. First time I watched it didn't make as much sense until I finished the series.

If not, it's damn close.
The story of Frank Sobotka really sticks with you.

I've seen Lost three times and The Wire twice. I love both dearly, but The Wire is my #1 show of all time. It's that good (IMO of course).
I would like to see how I would look at the show had I watched it as it aired. Because S2 is such a HUGE change from S1. I think it may have turned me off if I had to wait week to week to watch it (and wait a year for the next season to air). I will say this though, I wasn't crazy about S2 my first go round. But I appreciated it a lot more in my second. A LOT more. I have it ranked as the middle or second-worst season, but it's still really good. And you could almost watch it as a standalone, one-season show, and it would be great. But it's just such a change of tone from the first season and the corner boys that it turns people off sometimes.
And like someone mentioned, if you know going in that each season focuses on a different aspect of Baltimore (the illegal drug trade, the seaport system, the city government/bureaucracy, education/schools, and the print news media), then the show will likely fare better with you.

If for no other reason than to follow the missing surveillance van gag. I laughed my arse off when each of those little 5 or 10 second scenes played out.

please do not compare lost to the wire. The wire embarrasses it

Troll. It had everything to do with the plot. It was brilliant

I like both, but think it's definitely the other way around, IMO.

Don't get me wrong. I love Lost but not having a end game and other plots just made it worse for me over time

It's an absurd, ridiculous plot that just takes away from the series.
What's the difference between that plot and what bunny did in season 3

Let's keep spoilers out of here, btw. OP is still watching S2.

It was a show, that IMO, you had to watch live and wait week-to-week to experience its greatness. Knowing what we know now, a binge I think is lackluster. I’ve tried it.
But while the show was still airing, it is maybe the GOAT water cooler show.
