Just watched episode 7.
It was good, but the biggest problem with telling a story about a wagon train this slow is apparently having to rehash the same problems over and over and over.

I thought Ep 7 was the best yet. I've not seen too many cowboy movies or shows that have dealt with how scary tornadoes in those times were.
It's becoming very apparent that this train probably won't make it to Oregon.
The show is good enough to look past the many flaws ppl have commented on this thread about.

quote:Yes it has flaws (like 5 minutes after a F4 tornado it's blue sky and dry) but the description of what struggles these pioneers had to deal with is very nice to see on screen. The shows moves slow but the trek out west had feel like molasses. I imagine with wagons they were making 4-5 miles a day?

I agree.
Although the make out session during the tornado was pretty stupid.

They should just change the name of the show to Elsa. She's fire, but this show is all about her at this point.

Ok, as a weather nerd this tornado scene is really pissing me off
Besides the meteorological issues, in the open plains with a horse and the tornado being that far away it would be relatively easy to ride out of its path. Instead they just plop down right where they are, hiding under said horses or letting the horses run off

The good news is after killing the bandits they now have 13 more horses to use and a lot more guns and ammo.

It was stressing me out a little when no one pointed that out and they never showed somebody collecting everything.
I’m not that knowledgeable on gang activity and methods back then, but with 13 guys, you’d think there’d be a wagon or two somewhere they use too.

I’m shocked the (Paramount/CBS) network allowed us to see a tornado prior to today’s global warming agenda.
Calm blue skies are common following a hurricane but tornados?

Another thing to bitch about, I’m a little annoyed at already paying for Paramount+ to watch and still having to endure like 5 minutes of ads to watch a hour show
I don’t remember there might have been a higher tier I could pay for with less ads but this is shitty

I’m subscribed to P+ through 247 Sports and have no ads at all during 1883 or anything else on P+.

There’s a premium plan for $10/month but it says that a few shows will still have ads.
I also agree they aren’t making it to Oregon but hopefully they’ll be able to gather up enough supplies from the thieves to continue on. Episode 7 definitely made up for how slow the first 6 episodes have been. For a moment, I thought the guy she raced was the one who shot her in the first episode (still keep waiting to see her change into her white dress).

When her and Sam first found the horses, I really thought it was going to lead to her dad riding up on her getting railed by an Indian.

What a fricking joke that tornado scene was, I’ll stew on it this week but I may be done. That’s some C level writing that I just don’t stick around for, that make out was horrendous.
This show is all over the charts with inaccuracies and plot holes. That Indian mentioned war in Wyoming, that shite ended 5 years prior.
Sheridans beard and accent were about the worst I’ve ever heard/scene. It was laughably bad. I bet Sam Elliot was dying inside acting beside that fricking clown show

As a weather nerd, you should have been thinking about how many points you could have scored with Elsa explaining the hydrologic cycle. Hit her with condensation nuclei and she is yours.

Somehow, I don’t think I would’ve been that successful

For real. I was wondering where he'd interject himself into this story.
This show is becoming a bore fest. I wait for it to get better each week and its the same old shite over and over.
