I’m also guessing that the younger boy we saw in the teaser trailer (where Tim McGraw comes back to the home shot after lynching horse thieves) is actually Elsa’s son. Taylor Sheridan can be predictable, and I think Ennis knocked her up.
(If this has already been predicted, sorry. Haven’t read the whole thread)

Newest episode dropped tonight.
It was a little uneventful, other than naked, hot, dirty gipsy girl. Looks like next week’s episode will be a river crossing again, unless they are saying their long plan to cross the Red River will also be uneventful, and next week, it picks up somewhere in Oklahoma.

Doubt they will use another episode on crossing the Red River. Also, we got the answer on Elsa.
We also saw that Shea is also frustrated by their slow progress by saying they should already be in Kansas by now. After Looking up "Doan's Crossing" I was able to find a map of cattle drive trails and it looks like they are taking the Western Trail to Dodge City.

I am thoroughly confused on the route they are taking based on the dialogue. The cook said there’s nothing between this settlement and Wyoming.
But like you said they’ve got Dodge City directly north which was booming at the time. If they’re traveling further west there were a few Forts and trading outposts on the front range of the Rockies in Colorado.
The captain mentions the “desert” they are headed into..they aren’t going through Nevada or some shite. They’d be crossing rivers every few days through Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, or Wyoming. That comes from personal experience plus just look at river maps of those states.

Almost ruins the show for me.
So forces and just plain fricking annoying.
It makes you wonder who thought that was a good idea?
Agree on the narration. It’s the same shite over and over.
Beautiful country
Rivers are mean
Death is everywhere
She also has an awful accent.

Did anyone else start watching the first scene with Elsa in the wagon and think they fell into some alternate universe where Paramount and Pornhub had merged?

When she slid her hand down her pants? For about a millisecond, I was like whoa, strange time to rub one out.

yeah, that was weird. Then it was nope, no baby.

This show isn’t perfect but I’m enjoying way more than Yellowstone

well, nobody died in the latest episode. so, there's that.
my interest is really seeing how they went from living in Tennessee to owning the Yellowstone that we see in the present time.
will this show continue until we see the current John Dutton take over?
Or will it end up being separate series' that ultimately end in current times?

I've never liked obviously fake southern accents and Elsa Dutton's is worse than most. She's a good actress (I first saw her on "Young Sheldon") but the narration is a turn off.
I typically don't mind a slow setup in prolonged series but this show needs to pick up the pace.
Since everyone is nitpicking the cast on their nice looks I'll compliment them on the superb dentistry they have all received. Even the rougher ones have a "Purdy Mouth"...LOL

Well she's a young actress and I'm guessing she has a voice coach and likely a director telling her how to wrongly pronounce words in a southern accent. I hope at some point they get away from the narration.
Let's face it, unless you grew up in the South most people in other regions look at her accent as comical.

it's not just her. Thomas does the same thing.

That's very true. In fact I've noticed that when she's just reading her lines in whatever scene she's in the accent is not as thick. It's still there but not nearly as pronounced as she does in her narration

That is one problem with westerns and older period pieces in general. People, especially women, are often shown much more clean, polished, and pretty than they would have been in the time. It is done to keep the modern audience engaged and not repulsed.
Every time I see the meme that starts hard times make string me I immediately think and it makes ugly women too.

What I find particularly interesting is “1883” airing about the same time as “The Gilded Age” on HBO which chronicles 1882 New York City. Talk about two contrasting nations.
And, yea, all those super bright teeth are distracting. Sheridan said they were sticklers for authenticity. So they should have at least yellowed them choppers up a bit. Maybe a couple of characters with missing teeth prosthetics.

She's hot. Clarkson is a cow and terrible interviewer.
