One of the greatest sitcoms of my generation and of the last 30 years. Can't believe it's been that long since Ross and Rachel finally got together for good when Rachel shows up at Ross's door and says "I didn't get on the plane." And the rest is history.
I have all 10 seasons at home.

Never watched an episode.

??”Smelly cat...smelly cat...what are they feeding you?”??
“Could I BE anymore of a...”
“Pivot. Pivot! PIVOT!”
And that’s pretty much it for the Friends references I know.

Kind of a strange show when you think about it. I can honestly say it never achieved anything great, and no particular episode is amazing, but there were laughs to be had in every viewing. A consistent .300 hitter of sitcoms.
It appealed to women more than men, but it definitely didn't shirk its responsibility to the male audience in terms of content.

Yeah, it came from a time when NBC owned all the TV ratings. That Thursday night lineup was a huge spot for a show.
In the 80s, Thursday nights were Cosby Show and Cheers, then it was Cheers and Seinfeld, then it was Seinfeld, Friends, and ER (I mean gotdamn), and finally, it was just Friends and ER.
Around 2004ish was when the NBC juggernaut ended.

...and then Tuesday night were Frasier and 3rd Rock from the Sun.

I'll argue this. The trivia bet episode and the Thanksgiving football episode are gold.

I've tried many times, but I just can't get into it

That's a stretch.

Perfect review for a perfectly mediocre show.

Starting with 1990 until now, sitcoms with 100 or more episodes that are better:
Seinfeld
The Office
Frasier
Parks and Rec
Always Sunny
Modern Family
What else are you really putting above it? Family Matters? Community? Curb? Home Improvement?
To use a football analogy, was it Walter Payton/Barry Sanders/Jim Brown? No. It was in the Curtis Martin always a Pro Bowler but never an All-Pro category.

I remember watching the finale in 9th grade . Just to be a part of the event of one of the most watched tv events in my lifetime

My favorite moments usually include Ross:
The spray tan
The teeth whitening
The leather pants
Rachel's prom
I actually thought Rachel was cuter before she had the nose job.

Same. Phobe is probably the worst sitcom character of all time. I couldn't get past how awful she was.

After maybe the second season, these 2 made the show unwatchable

You don’t

To say the least..
I had a roommate that always put it on for background noise. I don't think I laughed a single time. I figured guys only pretended to like this show because the girls they were trying to hook up with liked it.

It is one of the worst modern sitcoms of all time. It is certainly the worst sitcom that is “successful” of the 1990s.

Blackish is still on the air and has a spin-off. It’s the clear cut worst “successful” one.
