2-1 Rangers.

Such BS the Bolts aren't on the power play. That was textbook high sticking.

From Meghan Angley:
‘When asked if a hit can ever receive supplemental discipline after the initial review once new information comes to light (like an injury in this case):
"Injury only comes into play AFTER a hit has been deemed suspension-worthy on its own."‘
So the Department of Player Safety is saying they ruled the Eberle hit as only warranting a 2 minute minor without further review for supplemental discipline, but the Makar one instantly warranted supplemental discipline.
They can’t be serious… can they?
EDIT: I typically don’t wish harm on anyone, ever. If the NHL doesn’t fix this then the Avalanche need to take matters into their own hands tomorrow night. Time to trot out the 11/7 Bednar has hinted towards (which I think we have to do at this point with Cogs/Helm out anyways) and it’ll be MacDermid time as soon as possible at a faceoff lined up at forward to make Eberle feel it.

Leafs win. Happy for Matthews and Marner.

The good news is John Tavares will never have to pay for a Molson in Toronto for as long as he lives. The bad news is John Tavares will never have to pay for a Molson in Toronto for as long as he lives.

Nope. Frick the Avs and their dirty play. Paybacks a bitch.
Just to revisit this given recent news, so: Helm is out indefinitely due to an injury caused by a cross check to the back (not called as a penalty), Cogliano has a fractured neck due to the hit in hockey that’s considered to be the dirtiest in the sport (that almost certainly required more than a 2 minute minor).
Makar hits McCann clean (by the hit itself), but super late/unnecessary and that was the rationale (plus injury) for the 1 game suspension.
And the Avs are the dirty ones deserving payback?

Yeah sort of a garbage goal but that’s how it goes — it was going to take something like that for Toronto to win tonight.
Strange series — Toronto got outplayed for stretches of almost every game save game 2, but they were clutch when it mattered and basically just managed to capitalize on their opportunities in OT (3 of their 4 wins came in OT). Also the series was effectively over when Tampa blew the 4-1 lead (in what is typically Toronto-like fashion) in game 4.
I’m guessing leafs fans are going to become the biggest FLA panthers fans for the next 2 days lol. If FLA shocks Boston anything short of the SCF will be a failure for this Leafs team.

I'm pretty sure that I heard Steve Dangle screaming over here.

Oil already on the board.

This is good for Toronto. Long way to go but this has to take off a lot of pressure. This could lead to the first Canadian. Cup in 30 years

I’m super excited for this one tomorrow. I think we’d all be picking Boston, but I don’t think anyone thought Florida would stretch this to 7. It’ll be interesting for sure, especially because it’ll shape a lot about how the East winds up.
The other Game 7 is basically who gets the privilege of losing to Dallas in 5.

I'm not talking about that particular goal, I'm talking about the entire series in general, especially game 3. Not in the mood to make a longer post right now lol.

Let’s not anoint Dallas quite yet. Lot of hockey to play

I’m not sure what to think of the east now that Toronto finally won and Boston is pushed to 7
The East champ will be from that side of the bracket though I don’t trust anyone from the Carolina NJ/NYR side
Dallas and VGK (and Oilers lately) look good bit better than any east team ATM
