1. Leon Lett. I remember Jerry prematurely celebrating after the blocked FG with the announcer saying the famous “It’s Leon Lett…No!!!” Too funny.

2. John Madden using his TV marker to explain how to cut a turducken. Then someone handed Al Michaels a turducken in the booth. Al puts the turducken on the table only to have John Madden breaking up the poor thing with his bare hands. Of course Al is laughing I’m disgust. You can’t do that on TV today.

The Leon let play was crazy. the snow coating the field made the slide even better.

I also remember the Randy Moss flea flicker from Randall Cunningham. Moss had 3 catches for 160 yds.

Huh? Why can't that be done today?

They continue to show that clip during Thanksgiving Day broadcasts.

Probably Madden in general. Thanksgiving was his time to shine.

Leon Lett game… I drove home from college that morning through a sleet storm in a car with no heater or defroster. Fun times.

I was pretty young, but this is one of the first memories of Lions misery. Bears ran back the kickoff to start OT and everybody on my mom's side of the family filed out of grandma and grandpa's house pissed off.

I go to the Butcher's Block every December and I see Madden's picture are the wall.

Thanks for posting that, mate. I've never seen the Lions not have a solid painted endzone before

Was it Thanksgiving where Jerome Bettis called heads and the ref gave the ball to the Lions anyway when it was heads?
