Look up his Uncle, his mom’s brother. You go digging into that family and you horrified at the shite his mom’s family was into. I have hard time believing his mom didn’t know something

He wasn’t offered an NFL job. This narrative is absurd.

Lol. All these internet badasses would give their left nut to make millions playing football and go home to a woman that looks like Webb every night.

McCarron was never a great talent but ended up with a couple natties, millions playing football, an elite looking woman and a nice family. He did alright.

Why on earth would that make me respect him?

McCarron made $15.6 million during his time in the NFL with five teams, including $4 million in his last full season.

Funny how they use the "last full season" to make the article work. After that full season, he signed a contract for $1.2M to be a backup in Atl and happened to have a season ending injury in the preseason. Definitely a fluff piece for an unnecessary feel good story.

Not everyone is driven by money.

Besides, if he invests his money and doesn't live outrageously he doesn't need the money.

A.J. must have a lot of dough for a career backup because that shite ain’t worth $4,000,000 vs. $60,000. The kids can watch dad play in preseason games.

Yeah no. For an extra 3.94 million, my kids will have to fricking deal with not seeing me play

He was unsigned in 2022 and made 1.2M in 2021. Where does this 4M number come from he's made 15M total career...

Don’t you even eye test?

There was some NFL backup who actually made $4 million who even though he got the job, it was only because AJ messed up.

This is what you’re supposed to do as a father. You only get one chance to raise your children. Maybe in Alabama that’s cause for celebration, but where I’m from that’s called being a father.

His kids can watch him play on television and home games. I never say my Dad at work and things worked out okay.

Plus, have to face the reality that no NFL team is really hungry for him. My guess he's hoping to get an NFL tryout by having some good XFL games.

XFL: “Do you want to play football?”

AJ: “Of course”

XFL: “You’ll take a pay cut from 4M to 60K? Is that ok?”

AJ: “Sounds good.”

Probably also hoping for a Kurt Warner type of situation. Get real playing time, have someone see him play... get signed to more than bench warming.

The reason for the pay cut? He wanted his kids to be able to see him play the game before he retired completely from the sport.

Yeah when I already made $15million I can imagine I’m just riding the returns on that and playing XFL for fun

Are there idiots in this thread who still actually think he gave up on a $4 million gig in the NFL to start in the XFL? He wasn't on an NFL roster! How much more clear does it have to be?

Of course, there were posters on the OT who couldn't figure out that Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson would be related if Harrelson's dad impregnated two different women, so I shouldn't be surprised.

I think that one hurts worse than 21-0. Still one of the best games I have personally attended. Tiger Stadium was never better than she was that night.
