So because they are the yankees they should be dignified and not have fun playing a game? Dumb.

So we're getting Raul Ibanez. Thoughts?

He is going to hit like .230 and probably get released around mid season?

Yeah, but he can probably hit anywhere in our lineup except lead off

1.1 million deal + incentives which could turn it into a 4 million dollar deal

"It was fun the first couple of years. Then it got like, I'm never going to get out of this funk," he said Monday, a day after the Yankees dealt him to the Pittsburgh Pirates for a pair of low-level prospects.

I let a few too many people tinker with me, maybe," Burnett said. "When you let that happen, you start doubting yourself sometimes. You wonder, 'Am I doing it right? Is this how it's supposed to feel?' and things like that. In '09, nobody messed with me. I was able to do what I wanted to do on the mound, whether it was turn around, close my eyes and pitch upside down. Then you have a few bad games and you start changing and listening."

He's with out a doubt in is decline, but I think he is capable of coming in in a tight situation and being able to produce a basehit.

If he can do that a few times this season the signing will be worth it.

$1-million base is worth it. I think he'll do alright with the RF porch.

For some reason I think this offseasons reclamation projects do not surpass expectations like last year

No denying we lucked out last year. I think Ibanez will be decent. I would have rather had Damon, but Ibanez provides a little pop, which is what we need in a DH.

He provides very little imo

he hit .211 with .232 OBP and .353 Slugging against left handers last season

not much better vs Right .256/.307/.440 (although nice 90 point bump in slugging)

I'm not sure he makes it a full season with the team... if he does I will be surprised
