MLB home run from the opposing team. Serious question. Unless it's a World Series walk off or Ronald Acuna's 763 home run or a kid nearby. Other than those, I'm tossing that sucker to 2nd base. It's just a baseball. Throw that shite back.

Always keep your first. The rest can go to kids - don't toss things on the field, ever. I know it's tradition in Chicago and such but all that does is make someone have to get up to go get it. Just hand it to a kid.

ETA - I caught my first foul ball at Kaufmann. It's in a case at home, came off the bat of Brian McCann. The rest of 'em have been given to the kids nearby - always makes their day.

Only root for the Tigers, Cubs and Royals but go to many other MLB games. Most likely would keep it. Threw one back in the 80’s that Andre Dawson retrieved and tossed in. Was like 88 0r 89.

People that know what they're doing bring a shitty ball to the game. When they catch an opposing homerun, they keep the homerun ball and throw the shitty ball back on the field.

i have long said i would throw back an opposing team's home run ball. seems more fun than keeping it.

i never sit in the outfield*, though, so it's not happening any time soon.

*not a brag. i enjoy the upper deck more than an outfield seat

Yep. Lived in KC, Tampa, New Orleans, Chicago and Detroit. Those became my teams.

Only place you'd be expected to throw it back is at Wrigley. So at a Cubs game, I'd get a quick picture to prove I caught it and then chuck it back. If it's a bomb from the Cubs I likely take a picture and find a kid to give the ball to.

Any other stadium I take a pic and give it to a kid.

ETA: I've seen people in the bleachers at wrigley catch a home run ball, make a quick switch with a cheap ball they have in their pocket, and then throw that back to appease the masses but still keep the homer.

Subtle, I’ve been to a baseball game brag.

Yep. Too many Old Styles in the late 80’s and threw the real McCoy back at Andre Dawson’s feet.

Catching a home run is once in a lifetime stuff for most people, so no. I’m not giving it to a kid and I’m not throwing it back. This ain’t Mardi Gras beads

I’ve been to hundreds of major and minor league games. It’s probably getting closer to 1000 at this point.

I’ve nabbed 2 ‘home runs’. 1 was in BP, so that doesn’t even count, and it was after the ball settled. The other was on a berm and I got it off the bounce.

It’s a rare thing unless you’re that douchebag Zach Hample. I’m keeping it or giving it to my nephew who loves baseball. Foul balls or anything else can go to a kid.

I read his book too as a kid. I studied the tricks again before every big league game I went to. That book was my bible as a young baseball loving kid.

Anyone who throws an object onto the playing field should be arrested for attempted assault and stupidity.

No. People who have a clue keep the ball. End of story. If other fans get upset, call in security. If assaulted, then sue.

Always keep, and if you want to throw one back, find some old beat up khoury league balls and throw it back.

YOU never throw a homer ball back, unless your a dildo cubs fan

Stupid tradition started by, of course, Cubs fans butt hurt about losing.

Home run ball comes to me, I’m keeping it. I don’t care who hit it.
