Why wouldn’t you tune into this game either?
Both are very exciting teams with tons of talent

Not being a baseball fan would be one. If you like good baseball regardless of who is in it, you watch the Series.

If you only like watching the Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, Giants, St. Louis--you're just a casual fan.

I’ll start by saying fans of those teams shouldn’t give a shite.

I don't give a shite. I'm happy the Astros and Braves have relieved all of the bandwagon fans of the handful of teams MLB and their network partners promote of their duties for baseball season. They can now go watch Lakers and Cowboys games in peace.

Didn’t go as you hoped , did it? I am not one of your deserved downvotes. We as fans are so annoyed with the way country is run, baseball kind of lets us forget about it for a few hours.

I don’t understand really
Not like these are the Rays and Marlins
The Braves have a very large fan base the Houston is one of the biggest cities in the country.
Big cities especially with this teams (outside of California probably because they’re weird) enjoy Pro Baseball.
They will be watching this World Series

Exactly. Braves- Astros are the two most passionate fan bases in the south.

This is a win for America.

I’m not a giant baseball fan (aka a Rangers fan)

If the series was Dodgers vs Red Sox, I wouldn’t watch 1 second of it. Somebody could call me and say it’s tied at the top of the 9th in game 7 and I’d rather turn on HGTV.

But I also just have a strong aversion to the media trying to push their big market teams.

Astros and Braves and I’ll probably pop in a few times.

See I’m the opposite
I’m not a huge baseball fan, i watch the playoffs
Every team left in the playoffs was extremely entertaining, had star power and I would have watched.
I think regardless of who won the AL and NL, it’s going to be very talented and exciting teams

Also, Atlanta and Houston are the 11th and 12th most valuable teams in the league
The Braves second in attendance, Astros 6th
Atlanta 7th, Houston 8th in media market size

These are some small market teams

I’m not a Braves fan, but they have a large fan base, and their radio network is huuuge.

Braves are a big get for FOX.

Astros are too, with their recent success over the last five seasons.

I think FOX is smiling.

Of the teams that made the playoffs for me the Rays, Brewers and White Sox just didn’t love the needle

Baseball moving to more of a regional sport has been great for local ratings but horrible for national ratings

And that’s sustainable short-term. Obviously more revenue in MLB ever. But I don’t think it’s good for the game long-term. Kids have to want to play. And if you’re not in 1 of the
28-ish markets that have teams (some cities have multiples), then it’s harder and harder for fathers to pass it down to their sons when there’s so much other stuff to compete with, entertainment-wise. And watch any national sports show, MLB may make up for 10% of their content. Probably closer to 5. Bump it to 20, maybe, in October.

There’s 300+ million people in America. There’s not a shortage of pool talent for baseball. But I bet the % of boys who play is steadily dropping. Which may not lead to a bad product, but a product not as good as it could be. How many Barry Bondses are the 3rd WR on an NFL team? Or a backup 2-guard in the NBA?

But isn’t that the same in football?
And their ratings don’t seem to be dropping
