Indians/Marlins is still the 2nd highest rated WS.
Based on what?
That world series had an average rating of 16.7. There are several World Series with higher average ratings than that. It's not even in the Top 10.

It's exactly what your doing and never once raised the point in our discussion.
I’m not sure what you’re getting at.
I never raised it because I never thought about it.
You were right and I was very wrong. I thought there were more patriots in this country but I was extremely wrong.
And people will always watch the NFL.
quote:
I mean IF the narrative is the NFL's TV popularity is "100%" tied to gambling, how would their "wokeness" effect gambling? Those folks only GAS about the money involved, correct?
Wokeness doesn’t affect gambling.
I thought wokeness would hurt the NFL, it doesn’t seem to have, although maybe that’s because they toned it down a bit? Idk haven’t watched a game this season, I was out after last year
quote:
BTW I detest their wokeness as much as anyone.
That’s good, but unlike you I cannot even fathom watching them anymore
Along with the NBA
They’ve spit on me enough

That’s not the World Series he referenced. And that Indians team was full of stars.
You said the 16 WS only had high ratings because of the Cubs.

I love to point out how fricked Cleveland is as a fan base, myself included, because they are the only team to ever lose in extra innings in game 7 of the World Series.
They're the only team to do it more than once but they're definitely not the only team who has ever lost Game 7 of the World Series in extra innings.
1991 Braves and 1924 Giants come to mind immediately.

So we just ignoring anything Pre-1989 for some reason?
That list doesn't even make fricking sense. There are 4 years post-1989 that had higher average ratings than 1996 or 1997.

Where did you get your numbers?
Didn't see the Braves/Indians number in there.

The Indians wanted me to issue a statement of regret when the fine was announced, but I told them to take it out. I apologize for nothing." John Saunders served as pre-game host for ABC's coverage. Serving as field reporters for the series were Lesley Visser (ABC) and Jim Gray (NBC).
The six games averaged a national Nielsen rating of 19.5 and a share of 33. Through 2016, this remains the highest-rated World Series of the post-strike era.

Yeah, you need to read that link again. It pretty much proves you're wrong.

Laugh all you want. You can't read, unless you're just terrible at trolling.

Because we go it.
And I believe it will not be the lowest

One can only hope they cancel the World Series this year

Right. That’s sorta my point. Baseball viewership is trending towards 100% regional with no real national audience
So when you bring in two medium markets in the same area, it seems to be worst case scenario
Are they still counting numbers by these Neilsen boxes and people that use cable? How would it even be an accurate number anymore considering how many people have cut the cord. Are those numbers added into the final tallies?

Without a doubt it will be the lowest.
Flip side: if it were the Dodgers vs Red Sox it would be one of the highest ever. I don't even watch baseball anymore and I'd tune in for every pitch.

Worrying about ratings and not the best teams making the playoffs leads to fixing games.
Fixing games does turn off some fans and may please the big markets but average fans begin to tune out.
