So 2013 offseason to Current, What have been the worst contracts handed out for our team or MLB in general? Can be FA or extensions.

Chris Davis: 7/$161 mil with the Orioles Mostly bidding against themselves

Jason Heyward : 8/$184 mil

David Price : 7/$217 mil, He's had his moments but also had serious injury last year and too many clunkers for the amount he's being paid

Homer Bailey: 6/$105 mil extension for the Reds

Heyward getting that kind of money for doing absolutely nothing is mind boggling

If Price was signed for $20 mil/season that would still be a shite deal for what they got.

Josh Hamilton’s contract from the Angels for 5 years $125 million was awful. He hit like 30 homers in two seasons and was traded back to Texas but the angels still had to pay almost all of his remaining salary

ETA nevermind, I guess this was the off-season prior to the 2013 season so it isn’t within the 5 years window. Still bad though

Not champions because of him. The Homer Bailey may be the worst. At least the others show league leading potential and in Heywards case, still plays elite on one side of the ball.

I nominate Shin Soo Choo and his 7/130 deal for consideration

Ah, back when the media were shitting on the Astros for being too cheap and fricking players over.

Guy gets $10 million for, ironically, 420 plate appearances

The same year that "The World's Greatest General Manager" traded for Prince Fielder.

Didn’t realize they still owe him 2/42 AFTER this season.

The contracts for any of the major sports have become asinine. To think these guys will be the same players they are today for an extended amount of time is ridiculous. Especially, when injuries are unpredictable.

Matt Ryan's deal a couple weeks ago... .

Miggy has provided a 5.3 WAR since his $31M/yr contract and is on a decline with 6 years left on his contract.

Pujols since he signed his deal has been worth roughly the same as Mark Trumbo since that time.

All of these bust OF contracts make if extremely interesting to see what Harper is going to get. Given the low value of corner bats in the market these days, is a RF really going to get 300+m?
