Worst coaching moves in college football history

Not worst coaching "hires," rather coaching "moves," as in, what was that coach thinking taking that job? Funny enough for me both involve Wisconsin. First, Brett Bilema leaving wiscy after three straight rose bowls to come get eaten alive by the SEC at Arkansas. The second was his successor, Gary Anderson, leaving Wisconsin after just two seasons to take a much lesser job at Oregon state, and not even lasting 3 seasons.

Probably more indicative of something going on in Wisconsin than poor moves by coaches

Dana Holgorsen to Houston is a bit of a head scratcher but he's getting paid and they are investing money into the facilities.

Saban said himself that his biggest professional regret is leaving LSU.

The jury is still out but if things continue to progress as they are, Jimbo Fisher to Texas A&M will definitely rank up there among the most head scratching moves in college football history.
FSU has a history of championship success and you only had to compete with Clemson for dominance. Texas A&M is the Auburn of the state of Texas and located in the toughest division in all of sports.

Has to be something in madison, maybe Alvarez is hard to work for. They have the Wisconsin alum now maybe in hopes he wont spurn them for literally any power 5 job that opens up

Yeah I think Wisconsin has proven that it is content playing old school football. Will they ever win a national title? Honestly probably not but their offense is so ancient it’s almost like the option these days in that so many teams are built to stop the spread most teams don’t have the personnel to match up with the big hosses Wisconsin trots out there with. Now the top 10 schools have the athletes to pretty much shite their offense down but outside of that it can be very tough to stop. Which puts them at 8-10 wins every year and the fans and faculty are both good with thag

Spurrier to the Redskins
In his defense I can’t blame someone who had already conquered college football to take their shot in the NFL. This was also relatively early in Snyder’s tenure as the Skins owner so maybe it wasn’t quite as obvious how terrible working for him is.
It obviously didn’t work out but the attempt makes sense.

Rich Rod ended bad, although I get why he did it. He probably had a lifetime appointment at WVU.
