I have tickets to the game Friday night in Houston. The MLB website says if Team USA advances they play in Houston on Friday. Am I missing something? The ESPN app says PR is playing the Friday night game.

They’ll update it as soon as this game goes final. If the US didn’t advance then PR would be Friday night.

If things stay as they currently are, looks like you will see Puerto Rico vs Italy on Friday night.

You're right, my bad. Haven't heard or seen this mentioned anywhere else, but the fine print on the tickets website has this.
Guess Fox made a deal for USA to be in primetime regardless as long as they advanced.

It doesn’t matter if Italy hangs on they’ve scored on the run differential and USA is in… in other words, once the score got for nothing in Italy, USA was in because Mexico had to win by scoring 4 runs or less..

Ended up being better for us in the long run to finish second in our group.
We face Canada in the quarters instead of Puerto Rico now. Also avoid Japan until a potential finals, but do get DR in the semis.
