Not sure what happens if Mexico comes back and wins, but if the score holds we play Canada in the quarterfinals.

So if game goes into Extras, how does that hurt the US chances?

The idea either of these team were going to throw it to keep the US out was always silly

This isn’t gay arse soccer where that actually would happen

maybe DeRo pulls a hammy and goes on the DL and USA baseball can bring in a replacement for the knockout round.

It’d have to go to at least the 11th. If Mexico wins with 6 runs, the game would have to end with 1 out in the bottom of the 11th or earlier for the U.S. to advance. If they win with 7 runs, they’d have to win with 0 outs in the bottom of the 13th or earlier. If they win with 8 runs, they’d have to win in the 14th inning or earlier.

Not necessarily yet. Needs to be a 9 inning game. It’ll get funky with the math if we go into extra innings, especially not ideal if it stays relatively low score with more extra innings…

Yeah, I’m confused. That graphic on page 37 of this thread shows the USA being eliminated with a 5 to 4 Italy victory. Am I reading that wrong?

Edit: Yes I was reading that wrong lol

Aaron Nola is on Italy? Geeze. Aside from Skubal and Skenes, they probably have better pitching than the U.S. team.
If team Italy wins this thing, will they be parading on the streets in Rome and Naples for this team of ringers?
There's a certain humor in all of his.

US might just have back doored themselves into the most favorable spot - If it holds as is, they get Canada instead of PR in the QF round.

So the 2 PM game on Saturday? Luckily for DeRosa there is no math in the next rounds. It’s win or go home.
