If I had to be right now, it would be on Mexico winning 4-2. Wouldn’t really bother me if the USA lost out. They have kind of sucked.

There are a couple of quirks, but for the most part, the minute either team gets to 4 runs, the US is through to the knockout round.

if mexico scores 4 and wins, wouldnt they advance? seems like the magic number is 5? then it doesnt matter who wins?

USA Baseball hired a bone head from MLB Network. Again. Maybe in the future they'll hire a real Manager. Somebody that won't talk out of their arse about tickets being punched. They had every opportunity this time around to rectify the situation, and got bit in the arse again.

By giving up a shite ton of runs and losing. He can't go the entire game. Worst case scenario is he shuts them down and they win a low scoring game.

I just said this to my friend before reading this thread.
It would also suck if Italy was up 1-0 only to lose 2-1 in the 9th.
Do I have this right, if Italy scores 5 runs then USA is in no matter what the outcome is?

In a 9 inning game, once Italy gets to 4 runs the USA is in. Mexico would have to get to 5 to beat them at that point.
