Jrue Holliday has to have brought back more trade value then most NBA players in history compared to number of all-star/all-NBA appearances. I like the guy, but it is unreal. This is the third time a team has traded 2 1st round picks for him.

Intangibles/leadership.

As a Cs fan I absolutely love this. Robert Williams can’t be counted on even though he is awesome at times. The relationship with Brogdon had soured.

The Celtics are trading Robert Williams, Malcolm Brogdon, 2024 GSW 1st, 2029 unprotected BOS first to the Blazers, sources tell ESPN.

wow

that is a great trade for boston in my opinion

williams and brogdon cant stay healthy

gsw pick will be late first round

holiday is the best defensive guard in the league and he wont have to create at Boston like he did at Milwaukee

Great pick up for the Cs

Wish the Clips got him but I guess we might get the Harden show instead

got rid of smart, williams and brogdon

needed williams + brogdon to make the salaries work for holiday

added holiday, porzingis to tatum/brown/white

horford/pritchard/kornet/buy out big guy/buy out guard on bench

that lineup is stout

Portland made out pretty well in this Dame fiasco. He was trying his best to make it explicitly clear that he only wanted to go to Miami. Miami knew this, and kept on low balling on their offers.

With Milwaukee and Boston getting even stronger, Miami now looks like the biggest loser in all this.

Portland did well, Boston did well.

Miami has to be seething.

They should trade Brogdon to Philly. Conspiracy against Miami would be confirmed and it'd be hilarious.

Adding Jrue to a good team is never a bad thing, but I don’t think he solves Boston’s main issue of ballhandling and playmaking during clutch moments.

Jrue Holiday will be 34 next year. That is a terrible trade giving up a young rim protector in Robert Williams and a likely at worst mid round 1st first from GSW.

Celtics have gotten worse this offseason

I agree somewhat, Holliday is 34 and aging, but still 1 of the best in the NBA at what he does with leadersip, defense, and rebounding and scoring from his PG role. So, the Celtics improved themselves by adding him, but hurt themselves in giving up a good defensive presence in Robert Williams. Pat riley should have jumped on this trade, I would have loved to have seen Holliday team up with J Butler. But once again Riley can't get it done, he failed on Dame Dolla, and now he can't get Holliday. But Portland was asking way too much for Dame Dolla, I would have told Portland to go suck it too. Riley offered them much more than what Milwaukee gave up, but they trade him to Milwaukee anyways. I don't know if they had something against Riley and Miami or what, Miami offered them much more, and you won't bite at it. I don't get it Portland?

I don't think this is true. Portland got a haul. I don't see a better deal than what they got back..

What do you think the Heat offered? Last I heard was Herro (who has no fit on their team) and a few picks..

Those few picks were all 1st round picks and Herro along with a young talented player like a Jaime Jacquez who they just drafted. That's a lot imo to give up, shite Milwaukee essentially just offered Holliday and a 1st round pick because the trade they were in with Portland had another team involved. The Phx Suns who mostly gave up their players to Portland. So, Milwaukee got a great deal imo out of this deal in getting Dame Dolla basically for Holliday and a 1st round pick. Jaime Jaquez will be a really good young player in time, so, Portland would have had him, 3 - 1st round picks and Herro who they would have probably traded like they just did with Holliday going to the Celtics. So, yeah, to me Miami had a better deal on the table.
