The current CBA would amount to players going from 1.507M in salary cap to just 4.0 M… a substantial raise however it would cost the league just 2.5 M out of that 115M TV deal profits. If the players got 40%, that’s just 17.204M as a salary cap… a 11x raise over their current salaries, and still in the grand scheme of things less than 1 Jaden McDaniels(24.393M)

His math is horrific on this because he does per team at the end not the entire league Not to mention what NBA players make doesn't matter to this conversation.

The break even point (if you don't add additional expenses or revenues just solely on what he's doing it on)

Without expansion teams considered (if you think they pay for themselves via the fee) is 9 mil per team cap

With expansion teams considered it's 7.5 per team.

Paying them a 17 mil salary cap each team would put the league into the hole for 255-315 million so losing about 100-150 mil a year. That's two lebron's by his weird comparison math

If they were currently making 40% on this TV deal (so 6 mil) the league would be losing an extra 73 mil so 123 a year

Let me introduce you to modern feminist women, lol.

These are women. Mostly black, lots of dykes. They are the pinnacle of lacking self awareness.

nice cope.

a league getting near ratings than baseball, MLS and NHL isnt subsiding. WNBA franchise values are at a all time high, billlionaires want their own WNBA franchises.

ratings are 20% higher, attendance is up 10% with Clark missing games

Yes it will lmao. 50 million loss across a few billionaires is nothing compared to NOT taking the loss to keep it around.

thats 50 mil that could be shared between players and owners, or would go directly to players. never under estimate greed, and what's actually owed to them, compared to wnba players.

The league is about to bank when the new TV deal kicks in. The valuation of teams has increased, TV ratings are improving, and attendance is improving. Whether that is Clark's impact or what things are moving in the right direction. The CBA and a raise work with this new TV deal.

Bet you can’t think of five people that watch the WNBA or name five WNBA players.

NBA and outside investors take 60% of revenue, teams take most of the remaining with less than 10% going to the players.

Yes the new media rights is going to quadruple in 2026 but it’s not going to trickle down to the players lol.

I don't watch it, nor will I ever watch it, but the financials and growing interest in the sport are there. Ratings and attendance have increased every year. The argument for the WNBA is that they deserve more than the 9% they currently receive, with the new TV deal, they will receive it.

That's cool and all but IS THE LEAGUE MAKING MONEY?

If so, then yes they deserve a fair share.

If not, then they should just be happy to have jobs.

The latest arguement is that the league is mismanaging the revenue, and the players shouldn't pay for it

"More than the 9% they receive"? The NBA's CBA is largely built on revenue, league income. The NBA's revenue last year was $10.5 billion, so any percentage of that is going to be high. The WNBA's revenue in 2024 was between $150-200 Million. Please give us an economic explanation of how that discrepancy can be made up to even come close to evening up players' salaries. All this "new" money coming into play......going to make up that $800M + difference? Then factor in those millions of dollars the NBA subsidizes the WNBA with. Not that complicated. Yet the WNBA's players have no clue???

no-one noticed when Shae Gillis said his bud's wife was a 4-time WNBA all-star, when she really wasn't. If he didn't mention anything, I wonder if anyone would have figured it out.

Mea culpa. Bad math.....not $800 million difference. $10.5 billion minus $200 million. You do the math.
