Its not even the most disingenuous in the sport.
Saves
Come in up 3 and no one on- save
Come in bases loaded in one run game- save
Saves are much less meaningful. Come in up 3

K-BB over 30% for a starter is nuts

Probably, I don’t think Skubal wins CY

Impossible to predict what happens over the summer but Skubal had been pretty comfortvaly the best pitcher in baseball so far

or come in up 1 in the 7th and pitch 2 innings striking out the 1-6 hitters and someone else pitches the 9th and someone else pitches the 9th and they get the save.

Or hitting into a DP but scoring a run counts as an RBI in the same vein as hitting a homer

yeah but we track all of those stats RBI, GDP and HR
although RBI has seen a decline in prominence as well. We obviously track BA RISP but RBIs are generally seen as products of other people being on base
Leave BA is .244 league RISP is .250

No it doesn't. You sure are dumb for someone that is constantly talking down to others.

That’s just ball bro. Sorry you don’t understand it!

W's signify going at least 5 innings and besting the other pitcher AND team.
Getting the "W" is credit-stat or acknowledgement for getting the job done.
By the way -- who's your even-money bet going to be on? The hurler whose record is 10-10 or guy who's 17-5?

I understand this specifically is dealing with Skenes. I will say the more important stat, I would think, would be ERA as that actually is something that deals more with the pitcher than wins/losses do. My favorite pitcher is Nolan Ryan, he had this same issue for a large portion of his career where he put up great numbers but played on a bad team. Skenes will, hopefully, hit free agency as soon as he possibly can and go to a contending team that can actually help him in the win/loss column and maybe he can win some awards.

There should be a rule that you only get RBIs if the ball leaves the infield

what do you mean? Everybody knows Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson are better qbs than Dan Marino and Jim Kelly
