In todays game, you pretty much have to be able to attract free agents.

He could only muster 1 championship with the best player in the league and a once every 15-20 years generational talent.
Dan Gilbert is an idiot. Lebron James gift wrapped him the only championship that city has seen in decades. Had Lebron not been a homegrown product he never would have came back in the first place.
As long as the NBA doesn't intervene and give Cleveland 3/4 of the next no.1 overall picks again they will be doomed.

In fairness a bunch of teams passed on Giannis. He was a huge project. Even someone like Otto Porter who went third overall could have helped them a ton against GS the last two years
