That would make 2 impatient fires in a row.

I think MENSA will get it turned around at Texas. Might take a little longer to clean up the mess that Strong left.

Taggart wont last 2-3 years at FSU if tonight's game was any indication of the coming attractions.

Yep, first game and all that BS, but I've never seen an FSU team look that bad. Dude looked "In over his Head" on the sidelines...……....

If 8-4 is "turned around" then I agree.

Many people underestimate the dumpster fire that is the University of Texas Athletic Department. It makes LSU's Joe A seem like a competent, intelligent leader.

All that money that UT has, comes with a whole lot of hands that want to be involved in decision-making.

the instate competition
Not just a factor in Texas. FL is a hotbed of in state competition. FSU has to fight for recruits with Miami, UF, UCF, USF, FIU, FAU, FL A&M, Bethune Cook, NFU, FGCU, Jacksonville, Stetson. As well as UGA, Clemson, LSU, Alabama, Auburn and assorted other out of state majors.

Herman was the golden child. Find it hard to believe they'd bail on him that fast.

Texas Boosters would sacrifice their own mothers to win.

Florida is the fricking college football Mecca for recruiting and three of its universities have won a combined 11 national titles.

Herman is absolutely in over his head. Don't forget that along with a couple of great upsets at Houston he also had some really bad losses. No excuse to lose to Maryland in his second year, that free pass was used last year.

Doesn't really have anything to do with that. Has everything to do with Texas(Texans') ego and perceived status.

I think Kirby has raised the expectations bar for new coaches at big programs.

I think Herman wins 9 games this year though and barely saves his job, then does pretty well next year.

Taggart called a horrific game last night and FSU look absolutely lost. How he didn't scheme around that OL is hard to believe. Put in more designed QB rollouts, options, screens, misdirection plays, etc.

It was like he made negative adjustments at half

Right about Kirby. Saban and Meyer winning NCs in year 3 has also made everyone lose their minds. Coaches should probably get five years to let their first real recruiting classes cycle through, but it doesn't work that way. I was patient and apologized for Harbaugh last year, but Saturday has me turning on him. I'd probably still keep him another year even if they melt down and go 6-6, but don't really care anymore.

I’ll give Taggart a little leeway since he has only been there for a few months and VTech is a hard first game. They get assraped by the North Carolina and Boston College contingent and he’s got big problems.

Herman OTOH? Texas should not be losing to teams like Maryland which is a Big Ten bottom feeder. He’s also had two years with the program and isn’t really showing a lot of progress.

I see 7 wins for Texas right now. I have trouble buying them winning over a combination of TCU, Oklahoma, USC, West Virginia, and Okie State.

Unless they step up and beat a few Top 25 teams, that seat of his will get scorching hot.

Really, would any team hold on to Charlie Strong after his record at Texas? I know he is doing great at his new school but come on, something was wrong when he was at Texas.

I think that same thing is wrong now. It has to be the pressure, boosters, politics and soft pampered culture that destroy these guys.
