Why the CFB Playoff should be the 4 most deserving and not the 4 "best teams"

It is completely ridiculous that the committee is tasked to find the 4 "best" teams each year. This is such an objective way of finding a true champion team.
The playoff committee should use the more objective approach by finding 4 most deserving. Talent should not enter into the equation AT ALL.
Why should Alabama or Ohio State be rewarded twice for bringing in top class after top class. They already have a talent advantage, but now they should be rewarded AGAIN for that talent by claiming their "one of the best".
Hypothetical Example:
1. 13-0 Ohio State
2. 13-0 UGA
3. 13-0 Stanford
4.?
12-1 Big 12 Champion TCU. One loss to a ranked Texas on the road. SOS: 20
11-1 Alabama, who did not win their division and lost to a ranked Auburn. SOS: 30
Clearly TCU should get in even if the committee feels like Alabama is more talented. They won their conference, have a stronger SOS and have a better record than Bama.
Who would get in though? That is the sad reality

The CFP does find the most deserving teams. There's a reason Alabama was the 4 seed entering the CFP Playoff and not the 1 seed. But the best and deserving generally overlap, so I don't really understand your point.
They don't pick teams solely off talent.

Most deserving and best almost always overlap.
Every team that's a legit candidate at the end of the season is probably deserving, just about anybody in the top 5-7 is a 'deserving' choice.
I don't see why going 11-1 in the Big12 and winning the title makes you automatically more "deserving" than going 11-1 in the SEC and not winning the title.
All you're doing is rewarding someone for being in a weaker conference.

How about using a time you think the committee got it wrong in real life on who they included in the playoffs and address that instead of this stupid hypothetical.

Wrong. It should be the 4 best teams. Btw “most deserving” is just as subjective as “best”.

Exactly. Every year the committee has done a fantastic job.
3 picks that everyone universally agrees with and the #4 slot is ALWAYS going to be debated. Just like the stupid bubble teams in the basketball tournament is debateable.
If you want in, put yourself in that "definitely top 3" group, don't leave yourself on the bubble or you only have yourself to blame.
Had Alabama got left out last year, they would have only had themselves to blame for their late season loss, just like Ohio State had nobody but themselves to play for that blowout vs. Iowa.

It needs to have an objective standard to measure everything.
You could have simply said "Best teams" creates an "eye test" and minimizes losses during a season.

TCU would get in in that scenario. I feel like the committee has gotten it right every year so far. It’s never going to be a given who the 4 most deserving teams are.

TCU would get in and you people are paranoid to think otherwise.
The 2 times Bama “backed in” to the playoffs occurred in situations far different from this. Even though Oklahoma State was their conference champs, they played no extra game and lost to a 5-6 team the 2nd to last week of the season. Conversely, Bama lost to the consensus #1 team in overtime
As for 2016, the only other viable playoff option was a team that lost twice by a combined 50 points. Including a 31 point loss to a 7-5 team

if they play Bama very close but win the rest I believe they are worthy of it. Bama has played jack shite but best believe if they lose to LSU they will still get it. LSUs schedule is insanity.

I feel the best teams should play for a title. I agree with your thoughts on how we select the playoffs teams. But disagree with your title. By your logic, UCF should have received a nod over Bama last year. Bama was clearly better than UCF
