Because it's the middle of the afternoon and in the eyes of their fans who have seen 4 World Series it's just a shitty play-in series.

Because an entertainment entity chose to place one of their premium products during a date and time when very few people can actually see said product. Worse yet, they went out of their way to make it very difficult to find on tv

I went to a Yankees home game in the last series of the Yankees season when they were playing the orioles and battling for the division, and tickets were cheap and plentiful. It was a Friday night game, beautiful weather and the stadium barely got loud. There were plenty of open seats around us. I was pretty underwhelmed with Yankees fandom

This was 9/26/25. It was beautiful and at 7:02 the stadium was maybe 40% full. The game was entertaining with lots of homers, but the atmosphere was disappointing
