She actually scored in D-1 football, and faced just a tad more adversity than Sarah Fuller.

...and pics...

Because nobody actually cares about this. Just a bunch of virtue signaling on one side and faux outrage on the other.

Remember when Gary Barnett said she was a terrible kicker after she got raped one of her teammates at a party?

I only remember a short clip on Sportscenter or College Football Final back in the day when Hnida kicked her XPs. Certainly not the same gushing as we've seen over Fuller.

Didn't another female score in a D1 game before Hnida too?

D-1, but not Power 5. At least that's how I understand why they're so head-over-heels after witnessing the greatest 28 yard kick in history.

She almost died recently...she was in the ICU for awhile.

In 2018, Hnida became gravely ill after an adverse reaction to a prescribed antibiotic sent her into multiple organ failure; her family reported her kidneys and liver failed and her bone marrow quit functioning, resulting in admission to an intensive care unit and emergency dialysis.

Thank you. I kept thinking yesterday “Ok neat, but hasn’t this already been done, and done better?”

I went to pull up one of her kicks and there’s a whole page of more impressive girl kickers than Fuller.

Here’s a High School girl driving it farther:

And making a game-saving stop:

Rock on, real shite.

Or how about Ashley Martin in Division I-AA football? She played for Jacksonville State University in Alabama and, in 2001, she became the first woman to score points in a Division I football game.

Her teammates at Colorado certainly had "love" for her...what? Too soon?

she was an oddity...a novelty if you will, and was celebrated as such. it was a "oh that's cool" thing that went in and out of the news cycle

the problem with the stunt this weekend is that "those people" want you to take it incredibly serious and would be livid if you treated her like a novelty

Exactly. This is where the twitter world provides me comic relief (as opposed to me thinking the world is ending). People on there get super pissed if you say the kick sucked.

Why is it so hard to grasp? If you want to be treated equally, then don’t make a crappy kickoff into a special event.

I heard a lot about it Saturday and Sunday but this thread is the first I’ve heard today. It would probably leave the news cycle quicker if people stop bitching about it

Bears or Eagles could use Holley Mangold on the OL.
