Softball is the absolute worst watch in all of sports. The constant chirping coming out of the dugouts is exhausting

It's too difficult for the seasons to align for the Midwest and Northeast to truly care about it, and they have minor league baseball, which dramatically decreases the chances of being popular nationally.

Such a Leftist, backwards way of thinking about things.

College has been the hub of innovation in football for going on 25 years now. Almost every innovation in NFL strategy/scheme has come from college since the Leach spread and spread option (there are 2-3 OG styles) were seen in college (which is the late 90s)

Can't say the same for college baseball

It’s largely a regional sport. Just like the SEC with baseball, the Midwest and Northeast schools are heavily invested into college hockey. The Mid Atlantic and some Midwest schools are also invested into lacrosse. We don’t have either of those two in the South, and put our primary focus and attention into baseball.

Cool.

The quality across the board is still garbage.

Summer wooden bat leagues are popular in the North. The Northwoods league has college players using wooden bats. There are a number of those leagues.

I will say that the ball seems to be flying out. Juiced balls or bats maybe, it seems like some warning track balls are getting out this year. Kind of annoying

That's what I love about college baseball. MLB feels almost automatic defensively. College is cool because you can play some school 50 miles away and see their outfielders drop back-to-back routine foul balls in the outfield.

Only on SEC rant/Tiger Droppings is college baseball considered anything bigger than a regional niche.

It's even more niche than that. Less than half of SEC schools turn a profit in baseball.

Too cold up north

Yep.
The season opens on Feb. 1.

Even MLB's opening day of April 1 is too early for most northern teams
