You make zero sense.

In 100% of sports leagues, division or conference winners make the playoffs 100% of the time.

Why even play the season out? Let the media pick their 'favorite 4' and have a playoff! If conference championships doesnt matter and head-to-head doesn't matter then why play the damn games!

if you're the best team in your conference then you should have WON your conference!

True.

The most important championship is of The Game of Life!

Who cares about BiG10, SEC, and such silliness????

However there is no rational argument for OSU to get in over Penn State.
Ohio State has a better record and tougher schedule. Why are people ignoring this?

Same as it did the past two years: we will feign controversy, and in the end the humans and computers will actually agree on the top four.

Preseason top 4:

1 ALA
2 CLEM
3 OKLA
4 FSU

That's why...

If you're one of the top 4, you should've beaten fricking Pitt.

The Big 10 needs to fix its tiebreaker for sure.

Kind of funny to see Ohio State fans now questioning "Conference Titles" and why they arent needed.

In 2011 and in 2014, their battle cry was that a team who "didnt" win their conference shouldn't get to play for a title....so why change now?

Conference titles matter in every sport, or they wouldn't take the time in being played.

Winning your conference should be rewarded with a potential to be labeled as the best team in the country. I think the reason why this entire situation is brewing is because it's just a 4 team playoff. When you have just 4 teams that can vie for a title, you tend to nit pick every little thing. In other sports, you don't have to win your division to win the title, but there are also more teams involved in the overall picture. If they stretched the CFP to 8 teams and give the 5 major conference winners an auto bid to the CFP, then things wouldn't be as cloudy as they are now. Win and you're in. Doesn't matter your rank, your record, etc. If you win the necessary games you need to, to win your conference, you get an auto bid. Sure it could open the door for some 3 or 4 loss teams, but if they can win the conference, they should get a shot.

Florida should make the final four if they beat Alabama because conference championships matter more than anything. - This board.

I'm loving watching Ohio st move the goal posts to show why they deserve to be in. This chaos makes me happy and I will laugh if the committee leaves them out...like laugh really hard. So hard.

Lol. Of course this comes from a Buckeye. You do not have to win the AFC or NFC to win the Superbowl?

There is not a requirement to win your division to make the playoffs.
Sure, but the winner of the conference automatically gets in. That's the difference.
