he lost his ability to run after the hip injury. The dude was slow as Molasses when he went back to baseball.

an accident like that takes a great RB like that and wrecks his career like it did! so it wasn't a series of injuries like someone suggested!

he also couldn't even swing like before in baseball with the hip turning and stuff to generate power, just a tragic accident!

and you know this how? As mentioned previously, when he played for the Raiders they also had Marcus Allen

Oh and you can't pull your usual "YOU NEVER SAW HIM PLAY PUNK" crap on Bo with me, I was in college when he played for the Raiders and saw him live in both sports

Well, I think Walker is the best CFB player I ever saw, but that many > is taking it too far, Jackson was a bad arse in college as well.

As for the pros, Walker's pro career was better than people realize, he had a couple of great years in Dallas, just on some crappy teams. The staggering part about the Minnesota trade is after giving up so much to get him, they basically platooned him with some guy named Rick Fenney

He waited a few years before going into the NFL. He'd come straight out of baseball and step on the field around game 7 each year... virtually no practice time with his team.

If he had committed to CONDITIONING to be a full-time back - You bet yer arse he would've been putting up jaw-dropping numbers.

I think Lebron and Dwight are definitely more freak athletes than Bo.

Bo is the last American sports folk hero. He wasn't the greatest ever, but he is a classic "what if" guy. And it's the legend around Bo that's outstanding. Not just the TV ads, but the feel he could do anything.

He was an interesting baseball player, but not a great one. He made jaw dropping catches and hit some massive homers (most notably off of Nolan Ryan - who being Nolan Ryan threw him nothing but fastballs). Bo never lead the leage in homers and he didn't win the Rookie of the Year, as suggested in this thread. He was an All Star once, and he won the AS Game MVP. Then again, so has Michael Young.

And Schaap actually played against Jim Brown in college.

Bo was legit. Deion may be a better athlete, but the dude was awesome. Easily one of my top 5 favorite backs.
