I think their close games might catch up in playoffs. This paints a different picture and if teams had better luck or ref calls or a break go their way the standings could look much different. KC has had a lucky year. One example is the Tampa game, KC won in OT and TB never even got the ball (coin toss win). At some point that luck may run out, or it may stay.

his WR #1 went down early, and then he lost his top two RBs

That’s an exercise in what if stupidity.

Have you not watched them play the last 5 years in the games that really matter?

It only takes one playoff game for that luck to run out. This year seems to be way more luck than past ones. Milder winter so far and maybe their playoff home games are not as cold.

The dude is 15-3 in the playoffs and won 3 superbowls. It’s not luck, they know how to play when it’s nut cutting time. A game against the middling Bucs in October isn’t their priority

I am only talking this year. He may keep on winning but I do think those stats on close games are telling.

His ability to escape the pocket and make something out of nothing is still unlike anything I've ever seen. The way Mahomes is able to avoid sacks with just the slightest of movement or footwork is amazing.

The Steelers didn't have a sack yesterday, but it wasn't because they didn't break through and pressure the quarterback. Mahomes was pretty unreal maneuvering the pocket.

Lamar Jackson makes similar plays, but not in the same fashion.

11-0 in one score games the season is still playing with fire.
On the flip side, the Bengals are 2-7 in such games and are probably gonna miss the playoffs.

Maybe if you were talking about some random team. Chiefs had a smaller point differential last year. Remind me what color the confetti was after the Super Bowl last year?

And unlike every other team, the Chiefs play 17 Super Bowls a year because that’s how much emphasis teams put into trying to beat the Chiefs. Raiders circled the stadium one time they beat the Chiefs. Josh Allen is the MVP favorite because he beat the Chiefs.

He’s already had a better career than all of these guys except one… the one being the best of all time.

And he’s 29

Just because you’re on a team that won more Superbowls than someone else doesn’t mean you’ve had a better career.

Quick example, Brees had a better career than Eli Manning in every statistical way imaginable a player can; yet Eli was fortunate enough to be on two Super Bowl winning teams.

Super Bowl wins are a TEAM accomplishment not an individual achievement. A QB is an important piece, but they are still only 1 out of 22 starters on a team.

The entire division and 75% of the conference has schemed/built their team personnel wise trying to beat the chiefs/stop Mahomes. The reason he threw for 50 TD’s in 2018 was because nobody saw them as a threat/schemed to beat them

I understand. If Mahomes retired today, he’d have a better career than all those guys. The only one where I’d even begin to hear and argument is Manning, and he limped in to his last Super Bowl as a shell of his former self.

Those Chiefs teams would have exactly 0 superbowls with Mahomes

Pretty much how Brady won in New England.

Ive seen Drew Brees light up defenses with six dudes of the street. I like Mahomes and he is a winner just doesn’t impress me as much as Brees, Manning, prime Rodgers and Brady.

Brady had plenty of “down years” if this is considered a bad year for Mahomes. In fact, Brady had 10 seasons worse than the season Mahomes is having now.
