If you could choose between blue or green and red, which would you choose?

Next time we'll cover why the Netherlands wear orange when their flag color is red, white and blue.

Also why Germany wears green.

Can we please keep threads about this pointless sport quarantined to its equally pointless board?

no surprise that it was a low scoring game decided by those absurd penalty kicks.

If they'd change the rules a bit to make the average score 8-7, even I might watch.

But the current game is simply unwatchable, for many reasons.

no, 57 years old.

To most sports fans, soccer is unwatchable, and very low scoring games mean too many games are decided by a random bounce of the ball, or a PK for a garden-variety foul. Most PKs are far too severe of a remedy for most fouls, which often results in a goal, which is a problem when games are very low scoring.

Modify some rules to open up scoring and the game would be far more watchable.

it's the number 1 sport on earth primarily because all you need is a ball, and that works in all the poor parts of the world.

But the rules of the game strangle the offense. That should be abundantly clear to everyone, when games are often 1-0, 1-1, or 0-0. With so little scoring, games are decided by random bounces or PKs for small fouls (only because they occur in the box).

Hell, I watched some World Cup matches last time and literally saw a match where one team had ZERO shots on goal for the entire game. ZERO. And they were a good team and got beat 1-0.

When offense is suppressed like that - I'll tune out.

ETA: other sports constantly tweak their rules to make things more exciting and fun to watch. Even stodgy golf changed numerous rules recently to speed up play and make things more interesting.

It's not like Moses brought down the rules of soccer from Mount Sanai. They can be modified, you know.

Soccer is incredibly interesting to watch even when there is low scoring. You just have to know what you're watching.
