I am not doing your work! Name any college ranking database, go look it up yourself.
I have to do enough research work during the week.

From a national POV I’m not sure why the state of Louisiana would want to put a block on any school calling themselves “Louisiana”. Seems like it could only be a net positive for the state.
If they’re worried about UL somehow upstaging LSU, there already a model for how this works…Ohio vs. Ohio State.

Because we live in a state that has a paradigm of backwardness.

With an ID like yours you embarrass us. Glad to not count you in our ranks.
And this is why I lost interest in USL sports.
When I first got to USL back in the fall of '88, I was a huge sports fan. Sure, I was a life long LSU fan, but since I was attending USL I wanted to go and enjoy games there. Got to see Brian Mitchell play QB in an almost empty stadium most weeks...unless a big name opponent showed up, then the stadium would suddenly get packed.
Loved going to see basketball in the Cajun Dome in a nearly empty arena most nights as well. While Marty Fletcher was a fricking terrible coach, the teams he's assembled were fun as hell to watch play. Kevin Brook, Aaron Mitchell, Eric Mouton and my favorite, Sideny Grider who had in the gym range. but, like everything else, unless they played someone big, no one showed up. I could get there 45 minutes before tip off, grab a drink, and go sit down in the second row behind the bench and watch college basketball as if I was in my own living room.
Baseball was no different...again, the only time fans would show up would be if LSU and Ben McDonald showed up (I went from sitting wherever I wanted for most games to standing outside the third base fence near the foul pole for that one. There was also a series with USC for some reason where Yankees current manager, Aaron Boone, was on that team...though I don't remember anyone showing up for that one. And in the case of baseball, I'd even walked on to play there but there were already two upper classman playing my position and they wanted to send me off to a few of their feeder JUCOs and I declined and hung them up...so I knew a few of the guys that first year and enjoyed watching them play.
And despite all of that, the one thing that DID animate USL "fans" was their hatred for LSU. As a guy that grew up loving LSU (and hating Tulane being from the River Parish area) I'd never really known anything about USL until I started looking at colleges. I was floored by how much USL people hated a team that virtually never played them in anything, and when they did skull dragged them. It was a such a one sided relationship. The loudest cheers I recall attending USL sporting events that did not include a big name opponent would be if the stadium announcer would give an LSU final score and they'd lost.
So...you know, I'm not sure I give a good frick what you think. I was perfectly happy to become a USL sports fan and actually put in the work, which is far more than I can say for most anyone else I attended school with at that time. I finally gave up on the endeavor when it became apparent that their focus was far more on Baton Rouge than on Lafayette. USL fans soured me on being a USL fan...not my former love for LSU.

I hear you loud and clear. The problem is, a majority of the people in charge are pro LSU. Even if they attended another in state university such as McNeese they also support LSU. These people will not support UL and or Tech becoming a big brand be because it conflicts with their Alma mater. It’s a shite show that ONLY would happen in fricking Louisiana.
Long story short, let Lafayette be “Louisiana” it brings more positive attention to the state of Louisiana which is what we need. We don’t need more negative media attention. For example, if UL beats Texas and continues to make noise at the G5 level, knocking off P5s in OOC and Bowl games, the national opinion will be “Louisiana might have many issues but they sure can cook good food and play football”. This does not hurt LSU. It helps LSU.

Your sense of honor, loyalty and duty is an inspiration for us all. I’m sure your people who raised you are very proud.

That's what I've come to expect...zero interest in responding to WHY I'm not a USL fan and just personal attacks. I could not have made up better responses as clichés if I'd have tried, so thanks for that.

You are one stupid mofo if you think us Cajun fans, of all people, haven’t lived through all what you mention. First, what program has not faced adversities? Second, most fans stick with their teams through thick and thin. A-holes bail.
Lastly, most of the issues you have listed have been addressed and corrected. Not that a low-life like you would know it since you are so deep up the arse of your beloved tiggers.
Have at it little man. Have at it.

Why don’t you go frick yourself. They already tried in the early 2000’s. It failed miserably.

Makes sense. That was right after the actual name change to University of Louisiana in 1984 was approved by the university of Louisiana board then later over turned after political pressure

ULM absolutely should call themselves Louisiana too.
They have just as much right to it as any other school in Louisiana.
Everyone should just start calling them ‘Louisiana’.

UL Lafayette has the second highest enrollment in the state and almost double the enrollment of ULM.
ETA: I post a simple statement of statistics and get a downvote. We got some fragile little girls on this board

And more research dollars than all the ULS schools combined.
