And that's it. That's the ONLY reason.

And the sports media would have you believe that if you don’t fall prostrate and worship at the altar of Derek Jeter, you’re not a real baseball fan.

Because ESPN wants us to erase the McGuire, Sosa, and Bonds era because of PEDs even though plenty of players in professional sports do PEDs.

Why would ESPN give a shite about that? They would personally pump steroids into the players if it meant more people would watch their shitty product. They just see it as an opportunity to get more people watching baseball.

It’s not really hurting anything.

It hurt the CFB broadcasts for those of us who give zero fricks about the “record”

I was wondering how long would ESPN keep cutting into regular programming.

He is setting the record in the AL. All the guys on that list (- Maris)cheated the game and fans.

Judge just shut down this thread. A week from today is the end of the MLB regular season.

The AL single season HR record has been held by Roger Maris for 61 years. It’s newsworthy whether you’re asshurt that a member of the Yankees is the one breaking it or not.

Because ESPN's CEO and head of programming are two diehard Yankees fans. This has been referenced in stories about them. Whether the mandate has actually been handed down by management or whether it's overzealous worker bees trying to make upper management happy, this is a prime reason for this that should not be discounted.

It probably kills the other half of ESPN employees who are massive Red Sox fans, but I'm sure they liking staying employed, too.

The people who care enough about this are probably already watching that game live. You don't need a live feed of every at-bat. Saturday is a prime example. If I'm watching a college football game instead of the Yankees, I'm doing that for a reason. If I cared enough about watching Judge tie Maris live, I'd find a way to watch that game instead of football.

When he ties and passes Maris, you run a highlight immediately after it happens to let the rest of the people who are not watching it because their lives don't revolve around the Yankees know. But if the rest of us gave a shite about this, we'd be watching the game already.
